How about converting jpg and gif in webm to save space?

Also, be able to upload multiple pics in the main post would be nice ( If it is possible can anyone tell me how??)

Multiple pics in a post: Click on the image button while writing the body of your message, it will add some text like this in your message: ![Title](http://link.to.image.imported.webm)

Converting jpg/gif to webm: I think this is a question to ask to instance administrators, or maybe lemmy core development team

[Edit] Fun fact: the image you added for this post is a Jpeg and not a WebM

Was just a suggestion 😝. Anyway, i understand I can add pics in the the body and even the comments ( and I will use this option very well in future). But is there a way to add more pics in the main post box??

No I don't think so, currently it's only using a "link" (that can be a picture you just uploaded) and title; then there is the body of your post.

No way to put multiple images as the content of your post
