I'm almost certain there was a movie like this. A guy create a AI celebrity and he fall in love with her. I believe he "kills" her in the end.

I don't remember if the public end up knowing if she was fake or not.

How the hell do you pronounce that? No wonder they couldn't remember the name.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but my first guess is: you pronounce is like the moderately common name Simone.

I'm confident you're correct. I over complicated it.

But it also alludes to "sim one", as in the first simulated actor. It is a play on words.
