Does creating a community on Lemmy take as much moderation as Reddit or can they be created and run by all users/members?

First day on lemmy and I'm hoping to see a lot more of my favourite reddit subs.

Additional question - will we seea similar influx of bots on lemmy?

Sure, if you were an user of that instance it will probably suck for you,

Which means we need some way to migrate accounts (even if it will require manual approval of instance owner)

Yeah, agreed. There is an issue/feature request on Lemmy's github for that so it's probably going to receive some attention in the coming weeks.
