Revamping my playlist - lemmels, give me all your suggestions!
Edit: THANK YOU ALL! I am taking all recommendations into consideration and will be giving them a listen sometime. I was a little overwhelmed hence my lack of response, but I greatly appreciate what you’ve written. (-:
Yes, this is a “suggest me songs” post. Only because I don’t know which other community is more appropriate.
I’m looking to revamp my main playlist and clean out songs I don’t revisit all that often. I was hoping you all could suggest some songs OR albums based on my current taste. The other reason I make this post is because I fear I’ll go my entire life without hearing fantastically underrated albums, and I know lemmists to have taste.
That being said, here are some of my favourite artists and albums:
- Lana Del Rey
- Marina and the Diamonds
- The Bravery
- “Disintegration” by The Cure
- Foreign Air
- Saint Motel
- “How to be a Human Being” by Glass Animals
- Garbage
- Madonna, especially the albums prior to the 00s
- Palaye Royale
- Vendredi sur Mer
I am additionally looking for artists similar to Crystal Castles, Com Truise, and Cults. Anything indie / electro / disco / jazz / poprock / pop-punk is welcome. Honestly, y’all don’t even have to take into consideration what I’ve just listed. Just give me the best you’ve got! Cheers. (:
Alice Glass (solo project)

CASHFORGOLD

Other stuff (fromat; artist - song):
Poets of the fall - Carnival of rust
Viagra boys - Punk rock loser
Pierce the veil - King for a day (or check March into water)
Get scared - Sarcasm
Grim salvo - Black rainbow (one of the best songs, could be better if it didnt address women in a bad way twice..)
Ashnikko
Melanie Martinez
Dove cameron - boyfriend
D4vd - Worthless
Paris Paloma - Labour
Falling in reverse - Popular monster OR Voices in my head OR Watch the world burn (beware; the singer is a rather bad person in my opinion, among others I think he also is a trabsphobe... such a shame cuz they make really good songs..)
Sabaton (power metal mainly about military history, they seem to be cool guys)
NF (rapper) - Clouds/Search/Hope
Crown the empire - Superstar
Jhariah - Pressure Bomb 3???/Bad luck!/Knvives are dangerous, so kid cut the theatrics
I'd recomment checking listen brainz' tools, like this one https://listenbrainz.org/explore/music-neighborhood/ which shows relative artists. Or make an account there (beware; it publicly shows your listents with an accuracy of a minute, not just a day). It nice becase you can also find people with similar tastes.
Have fun exploring!
You could try "Used to the darkness" by Des Rocs. If you like it I'll see if I have other songs.
I guess whether or not they’re underrated depends on where you are, because IME Americans usually don’t know who they are but Europeans do, even though they’re an American band; but anyway Scissor Sisters is great if you haven’t checked them out. Their last album (Magic Hour) is their weakest IMO, but it still has some good songs.
I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ is pretty representative of their upbeat songs, and Return to Oz for their slower songs.
They are so good, and I do think underappreciated. I Don't Feel Like Dancin' is one of the very few songs that I will always listen with the video on.
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

One song that recently has been putting me into a very good mood every time I put it on is "Read my mind" by the Killers.
Vundabar is one my favorite indie bands. I love their new stuff, but I'd give the album Gawk a try first.
You would probably enjoy Alexandra Savior, The Last Dinner Party, and Roisin Murphy.
Do instrumental tracks count?
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, they absolutely do!
I use two.
You're going to regret asking me this.

Edit: CHVRCHES
Linda Perhacs, e.g. "Hey, Who Really Cares?"
The Joy Formidable, e.g. "The Ever-Changing Spectrum Of A Lie."
Bjork, e.g. "Bachelorette" or "Immature." Really anything from Homogenic.
This Town Needs Guns, e.g. "26 Is Dancier Than 4."
My Morning Jacket, e.g. "It Beats For You."
Of Montreal, e.g. "It's Different For Girls."
The Moody Blues, e.g. "Your Wildest Dreams." They had four decades of killer songs with no flawless album.
Supertramp, e.g. "The Logical Song."
Animal Collective, e.g. "Did You See The Words."
Jimmy Eat World, e.g. "Believe In What You Want." Clarity is the best album that ever got a band kicked off their label.
We Were Promised Jetpacks, e.g. "Conductor."
Band Of Horses, e.g. "Blue Beard."
Rubblebucket, indie dance music from Vermont. Definitely go see them live next time they tour.
Should probably put some MGMT on there.
Such good suggestions already. I am going to go in another direction - I like all the stuff you do, here are some artists from different genres not in your list, that I think you would like:
Durand Jones and the Indications
Leon Bridges
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Fiona Apple, my kids are obsessed with her lately and it kind of opened my eyes to how good she really is.
And in the genres you do already love, Gossip (I am loving the new album) and Perfume Genius.
Also the "you can crash my car tonight" song from Coin. They are such simple music but just delightful.
It's only tangentially related to your picks, but I believe you might enjoy America Football (LP 1 in particular). Try them out :)
You def need The New Pornographers on there.
If you like Garbage you'll probably like Curve.
Fucking jews remix
