Passionate gamer and Star Trek fan but the thing I enjoy most is writing.

This is one way to finally get rid of Twitter. I wonder if Spez is considering charging for Reddit?

That’s the problem with digital games.

If you buy it legally the publisher might decide one day to take it away from you and you have absolutely no rights to stop them because you don’t own shit.

If you pirate the game then it’s yours to keep for as long as you want. Plus you get the added benefit of none of the draconian DRM that serves no purpose other than to punish people that buy the games legitimately.

Just to clarify that I only support pirating games when they have been removed from store fronts and there is no possible way to support the developer even if you wanted to.

Does just spez just sit around all day thinking up ways to piss off the most amount of people in the shortest amount of time?

But let’s be honest. The people still frequenting Reddit clearly don’t care about the shitshow that place has turned into and aren’t likely to be turned off by a new app icon.

Absolutely. People thought karma actually meant something.

Seems a bit short sighted. There are some games, movies and TV shows that simply don’t exist to buy legally or even second hand.

Torrenting is the only way in some instances to preserve content.

At least in the UK, enforce it how.

The only way a school can enforce it is by committing theft.

My oldest daughter is disabled so my youngest daughter must have her phone so she can be told about changes to pick up if something unexpected happens which it often does. The school isn’t within walking distance of home so she needs to know what’s happening.

As soon as you threaten to call the police for theft they cave.

Don’t go to Reddit. Stay here, it’s much nicer.

The process steps of verification include:

The user takes a photo of someone old enough to play game

Tells game “yup that me”

The system then checks if there's a live human face in the frame

The image is then uploaded to Yoti's backend server for estimation

Orrrrr

They’re building the largest database of pictures of minors on the planet.

Yeah we tried that. It went so well she now takes her own phone.

I don’t have tons of digital media so it’s stored on 2 4TB portable HDD’s.

I only regularly download and keep things that either aren’t available on streaming or are removed from streaming services.

But since the writers strikes I download most things I want to watch as the streamers aren’t getting any more of my money until they pay writers what they’re worth.

Musk need to ease up on the crazy.

If Lemmy keeps growing this fast more servers will start to struggle.

That is a very good question that I’m glad somebody asked. The lemmy.world community (I modded there too) discourages posts that are about the PS5 & PSVR 2 and is more about the older systems.

I want this community to be a one stop shop for all of the PlayStation consoles and games.

As for the KBin PlayStation community they don’t allow self promotion. I plan on allowing self promotion in a weekly pinned post if there’s demand for it.

I hope that answers your question and it would be great if you joined the community.

Good thing all this content will still exist on torrent sites. 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

I’m genuinely surprised Apple didn’t opt for the portless option. With wireless charging, wireless iCloud backup and wireless connections to macOS you don’t actually need a port on the phone.

I’ve had a 12 Pro Max for almost 3 years and I’ve have never plugged anything into it.

Unfortunately he’s never going to release it out of fear of Disney.

I haven’t used another browser outside of Safari for almost a decade and I’d never dream of using anything made by Google.

I’d like to know this too. Should I be posting content to Mastodon to increase the visibility of my communities or can they just see it from here?

When I checked Mastodon I could see communities but none of the posts.

My first “smart device” was a cheap ass tablet running ICS. The tablet was absolute horse shit but it sold me on Android so my next phone ended up being a Galaxy S4.

I’ve been buying Apple devices for a while now but there’s always a place in my heart for these old Android versions.

The best way is to just delete your account and stop using Reddit completely. Any traffic to Reddit is seen as a win for them as it keeps their active users up which is what they use to court advertisers.

Just let Reddit and it’s users live over there while we have our own good thing going here. Same goes for Twitter and Meta too.

This is only supposed to happen if you stop paying for Instant Ink. Buying a new cartridge should still work. I'd take the printer back to the shop you bought it from and tell them its broken.

It does but much like their Reddit sub they have a history of removing posts for no other reason than the mods disagree with the opinion put forward. Usually criticism of the shows from Discovery onward. The good thing about Lemmy is everyone can see the modlog unlike Reddit so they are more careful now but it still happens.

I’m not interested in competing with them and they have every right to censor their community if they so wish. I am merely offering an alternative to their community should people not want to join their community.

Mine only gets charged on the dock overnight. I’ve never needed to charge it during the day so it doesn’t get used while charging.

For games if there is no way of buying it new and supporting the developers I’ll just download a ROM. It makes absolutely no difference to the developer or publisher whether I buy it used or pirate it. They aren’t getting any of the money either way.

Or if it’s a PC game and I’m not sure it will run on my system I’ll pirate it and if it runs they get my money.

As for movies and TV if it’s available to buy on physical on DVD, Blu Ray, 4K Blu Ray I’ll buy it. But if it’s only streaming or on VOD I’ll pirate it. There’s been too many cases of purchased content being removed from peoples accounts.

Basically if they want my money it needs to be available to buy brand new in a way that won’t just disappear one day.

It is theft when they refuse to give the phone back to me and try and keep it until the end of the week.

Until the strike I was subscribed to Apple TV, Paramount+, Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime so I don’t pirate unless what I want isn’t available on physical disc or streaming.

If a streaming service removes original content because they don’t want to pay residuals I’ll torrent it.

Likewise anything new that comes out during the strike I’ll torrent. Once they start paying the writers fairly and guarantee protections agains AI for writers and actors I’ll be more than happy to start giving them my money again. But as things stand the studios pocket 99% of the money hence the strikes.

This is exactly what I was thinking too.

So it could be worth reposting content from my communities to Mastodon to help grow the communities?

Depends where the dog is. If it’s an Aussie it is Thursday.

Good doggie.

There’s so many but the I think the biggest disappointment award has to go to Death Stranding.

A brand new by the creator of Metal Gear without the shackles of a publisher looking over his shoulder, it had the makings of an epic game.

What did we get? Amazon Prime simulator with such a convoluted and nonsensical story it barely makes sense.

Why would an iOS app be affected by Google?
