The kbin.social for sure is dead, that instance has been down for a few weeks now.

Between the three remaining one, the lemmy.ml is obviously the most active.

Thank you for posting here!

9 in 10 US teens use iPhone

US is really a unique market in that regard

Disappointing to see them moving from the compact format

As always, price is ridiculous

People have raised that issue several times in the past, the Lemmy devs prioritized other issues instead

AMA from a few months ago (not the last one)!announcements@lemmy.ml

https://catbox.moe/, I uploaded one yesterday on !star_wars@lemmy.world if you want to have a look

We probably still use a computer regularly, reducing the need for a large phone screen to watch content

Thanks!

Thanks for posting it. Nice alternative to GMaps

Very surprising, thanks for sharing

so the AI is trained that silence = “subs created by zeroranger.uk”

Nice one ha ha

And not even in the most relevant one, !moviesandtv@lemm.ee

You can already use linked devices

They come up every few weeks, usually admins ban them quickly

Thank you for your work

I was thinking about a device (phone or tablet), but it could be both

Isn't there !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml for this kind of questions?

It's interesting, it's because of such articles and comments about the various issues (mostly battery life, and sometimes connectivity) that I didn't consider Pixel for my new phone.

It's sad because they are supposed to be the Android top devices. Motorola seems decent nowadays, Asus Zenfone got a lot of backlash recently about the locked bootloader, but at least their phones are compact and have audio jacks. Even Xiaomi I could consider with DNS blocking to stop the trackers, their quality-price ratio is quite good, especially second hand.

Motorola seems to be back on track. I didn't get the G84 because the CPU seems a bit slow, and I don't like the curved screens from the Edge models, but it's definitely on my radar for their next models.

I keep hearing about /e/OS, I might give it a try! How is it for the banking apps, does it work as standard Android, or is there any issue?

maybe to be asked in !fediverse@lemmy.world ?

10 months old, but interesting to see a CEO perspective

Looks neat! Any plan for a Lemmy/Mbin instance?

Agree on most of your your points. Which phone do you use?

!skincareaddiction@sh.itjust.works

I post there regularly, but it could use some more activity

!science@mander.xyz and !science@lemmy.world ?

!physics@mander.xyz and other mander.xyz communities might be interesting

If I read the article correctly, they set up an Akkoma instance.

Akkoma works well with Mastodon and Misskey forks, but not so well with Lemmy and Mbin, hence my question.

That's the whole idea of the thread.

User 1 comes and say "I want the best camera phone, I don't care about ROM, I would actually prefer stock"

User 2 comes and say "I want the most future-proof phone, ideally with GrapheneOS, but I can do with Calyx or other custom ROMS"

The thread wouldn't be a "one size fits all", it would be a collection of requests and suggestions

Thanks!

What do you currently use?

I haven't seen Chinatown, but feel free to cross-post to !moviesandtv@lemm.ee as well

Hello,

Maybe a question to crosspost to !history@mander.xyz too!

Thanks for sharing! I just had a look at Nokia phones, the G22 is a bit too large for me, but the X30 seems interesting (though a bit pricey)

is missing a 3.5mm jack and SDCard.

They only reliable option nowadays for jack is Sony, and they are very pricey :(

Hello,

Thanks for jumping in, seems reasonable

Thanks, so same as the 7a when it released.

Damn, I forgot how expensive the a line became

Still seems strange, why not just open a new line with the Nothing name? Samsung lines goes from A15 to S22 Ultra within the same brand
