I really like it here

Ah yes, just take a photo of your id. Surely X can be trusted, right… right guys?

This image has been reposted so many times now that the notes can’t even be seen anymore lol

I watched two ads just to get rickrolled.

Lemmy has been feeling pretty empty the past couple of days. That just really goes to show how important federation really is.

The internet has broken me, I can’t look at pictures of animals anymore.

In Bulgaria we have the very creative insult „You’re as sharp as an edge on a round table”, which I find pretty amusing

Frankly, it’s just way too big, which can make performance bad, makes it a target for attacks and due to the huge user base it’s harder to upgrade. That’s why .world is still on 0.18.5 while most of lemmy is at 0.19.3.

Also, from what I’ve seen the admins can get a bit powertrippy.

Please stop making new communities.

There seems to a mistake saying that Threads is not blocked by lemmy.zip, when we defederated them months ago.

Isn’t that intentional though? I don’t believe many instances, especially the small ones, can afford to federate every community. Sure, sometimes it can be a bit annoying but you can always check on lemmyverse.

Phone bad!!! But jokes aside phones are not the problem, the students don’t need a phone to distract themselves from studying. Banning them won’t solve a problem it would just be tach illiterate 60 year old padding themselves on the back for „getting those evil phones out of the classroom”.

This is the cutest thing I’ve seen today. I expect more of Lincoln going forward

Seems like the guy has dug up his USA bad folder

Sex sexers of reddit what is the sexest sex you have ever sexed

It’s not dead. Sure a few instances have gone down, for which I’m very sad, but it doesn’t mean lemmy is dead. Even with these setbacks I remain hopeful and still believe in the fediverse.

Let’s not forget the people who were just straight up banned when they expressed their disapproval of banning the pirate communities.

You’re definitely right, a lot of the time this place feels like Reddit lite

Go to your profile settings trough the site. There you’ll see a section for importing/exporting your subscriptions, just click on it and it should download a json file.

Thanks for the understanding and help 😊

Everyone on twitter is going to become an ePiC pRo GaMeR from 2016

Because for them hate for the west comes first and foremost, and after that comes their ideology. That’s why anyone who opposes the west is good in their eyes.

It’s always the small instances full of passion.

And harassing the mods for closing the subreddit without bothering to learn why it’s even closed. I don’t understand why people think that these unpaid volunteers owe them something.

I don’t really like them, my feed is now polluted by bots. I’ve already blocked one that reposts Reddit content and I’ll probably beging blocking more of them

Oh I never thought of that. I thought it might mean fuck Reddit but I wasn’t sure. Thanks!

The API changes didn’t really have an effect on me since I had always used the official Reddit app, and only switched to Apollo a week before the blackout. The reason I left is because Reddit’s response was really out of touch and insulting to its users. After coming to the fediverse I realised just how horrible Reddit has become and I don’t plan on going back.

The devs said that they’re working on a new sorting method that pushes small communities up in the feed. I’m excited to see how it will work.

Why can’t we contribute just to have fun, why should there be some kind of an award? Besides, that’s just like the awards on Reddit and we know how well those work. The same one-liner under every post, flooded with awards.

This system just encourages farming and creates a hive mind mentality. Lemmy is great the way it is.

I’ve seen only NOT_RICHARD@lemmy.today post them. A two day account as well

I see what you’re trying to accomplish and congratulate you for trying to make Lemmy a better place, but I don’t think it’s a good idea. As many people here I’ve blocked @bot@lemmit.online precisely because it just posts Reddit content and floods my feed, with what is basically spam. Also many people came here just to avoid Reddit and to try and make something better. Sure, when 0.19.0 comes out and people will be able to block instances, lemmings will have a choice if they want to see that instance, but what about new users, or people just checking Lemmy out? Do we really want them to see reposted reddit content? Because they can already do this on reddit. What we need is to stop being so invested in “our ex” and just grow as a community, in a natural way.

Same. It’s amazing how much time I have when the algorithm isn’t shoving me endless content, trying to keep me engaged.

I haven’t heard of it but it’s always sad when an instance goes down. The same happened to vlemmy, it just went down without any explanation or warning. Maybe the admin didn’t have the time or resources to keep it running.

Saw the same thing twice on one of those “advertisements”. I guess it’s probably trolling and mostly lack of moderation

I’m definitely more open to interactions on here. The fediverse, and lemmy especially, feel more like a community and not just an endless sea content.

Currently playing Horizon: Forbidden West. I love it but it can get somewhat tiring after a while. It’s my third open world game in a row and I definitely feel the need to play something smaller and more focused.

I actually started using kbin before lemmy but switched due to the lack of apps for kbin. I’m looking forward to when ernest releases the API for kbin.

Fair enough

Having more than one account is really convenient. You could still browse the fediverse if your instance goes down or something else happens to it. Also you might want a new account because you instance federates(or doesn’t) some other instances. But this can also get out of control. I have 5 Lemmy accounts, 2 kbin accounts, on kbin.social and artemis.camp, so I can use artemis, and 1 account on mastodon

I hate that I read that.

I definitely agree. I pointed out that asklemmy@lemmy.world is becoming more and more like AskReddit and I got downvoted and got these sarcastic and obnoxious responses that are typical for reddit
