It's super helpful to people like me who have been suffering their entire lives. It's great to feel heard and validated, but the real value is being able to learn about myself. I've never been a morning person and have trouble sleeping at night. It's really nice to hear something other than "you're just not trying" or "try counting sheep". It's a lot better than just thinking I'm flawed. I wish someone would have told my parents this when they used to scream at me for sleeping in too late or not being asleep when they wanted me to be.

It was the same way with my adhd. My parents and teachers kept telling me I was just lazy, or didn't care when I felt like I was working my butt off. Being 'worse' then everyone else ate me alive and I'm still suffering for it. It was the same with my brothers autism. It was the same with my chronic depression. I wish I was born in this age of self reflection and mental health awareness, and for the sake of all the kids like me I really hope we keep pushing forward.

I'm sure your comment was sarcastic, but I'm hijacking it to dump 20 years of built up trama,, and to let the world know how thankful I am that we're starting to accept these labels as more than just flaws. They're really, really helpful.

Edit to say, I just read the other comments and realize you weren't being sarcastic. I hope my post helped point out some of the reasons things like this are becoming so important to people.

Why do so many people, usually children, think digital games are a good idea? Absolute scam, and it's only going to get worse. Next gen of consoles will probably be all digital. You will lose access to games for seemingly no reason, everything will be $70, no trading, no selling, and no one but the big guys making a dime from the sale.

Please shop at your local game stores, don't buy digital. You are not only ripping yourself off, but helping to enable a future where you don't even really own the games you buy. Look at ubisoft right now. You bought those games. You own them. They're literally stealing games just to try and force you to buy another copy.

Logitech is the king of the budget device. I've had the same wireless mouse for almost 10 years give or take. Best 10 bucks I ever spent.

Find a game store! Every city should have one or two places where people gather to play board games and card games. I've met some really great people just jumping into random magic the gathering matches. Only of my best friends was just some dude I met at the card shop, he was looking for a group to play dnd with and we've been meeting up once a week ever since.

Apps like meet up (if it's still a thing?) may be really useful as well.

I may be in the completely wrong genre, but have you played pillers of eternity? I played a few hours of the second one and thought it was great.

I have a couple, and I love teaching my niece and nephew about them! Most superpowers can be learned with a bit of hard work! I taught my nephew how to switch between "eye contact" and actual direct eye contact when he needs to make sure his point is heard. He told me last Christmas that he still uses that trick on his parents and teachers and it works. I learned it in a sales job. My other super powers include speed reading (which my niece absues to get her assigned reading done faster), guessing people's coat and pant sizes, and predicting peoples actions, emotions, etc. I'm no Sherlock Holmes, and attribute this last one to being adhd, but I was able to pass some of that onto the kids, and I think it helped them a lot. I think its important to see people clearly, like knowing the diffrence between someone being violent or angry vs having an anxiety attack. My niece and nephew have taken this to heart, and I can tell they have made a ton of effort to adopt this 'Superpower'.

Knowledge itself is a super power, if you use it. The more you learn and attempt to understand without prejudice or bias, the stronger your power to help people becomes.

Yup, that's my problem in a nut shell. People make it sound really easy, and I'm sure with enough time and reading it would be, but man is that not just something I can do right now

Avoid actual eye contact for the entire conversation by looking near or around the eyes. This part is also a good tip for anyone who struggles with eye contact. The next part comes when you need to make a strong point or get the listener to really believe you. All you do is switch to actual, direct eye contact. It catches people off guard but is subtle enough that it seems like nothing has changed.

Speed reading is basically just practice. Look up youtube tutorials and keep at it until it feels natural. Just don't use it to actually read or you will miss things. My dad made me learn how to do it when i was a kid. While it's uncomfortable for me, it does help me a lot when I'm in a rush.

Bought a fancy pizza the other day. They put zero thought into the distribution, instead opting for giant discs of goat cheese and spoonfuls of sauce spread about. Some bites were great, most were missing crucial ingredients for a pizza. Like sauce and cheese.

I'm totally not the guy to give this advice, but I am frequently told you can get almost any old game running on windows with the right emulators and know how. I don't have the know how, but I'm sure you could figure it out if you spent a couple days learning about it.

I would prefer a civilization builder with that kind of personality. Live civ 5 mixed with baulders gate 3, with loads of asthetic choices for my towns, other civilizations to go to war with. Etc. Maybe you could play from the perspective of God, play the majority of the time in a top down cilization style, but then also have the option to go down to your planet as an avatar or profit or whatever and lead in a more hands on fashion to solve different issues. Say your chosen people are losing a war, you could become a great warrior and come down to help for a couple years. Idk, I just really love the idea of a civilization builder that feels more personal and involved.

Whatever you did here almost worked for me, so it's the best one I've found yet. I should probably upgrade my device...
