The athlete the article is talking about is 26

Bananas in the US are pretty large though.

All of my friends (who are all in their late 20s) play Wordle, so I don't know how accurate that is.

I don't think there would be any real benefit to this over DXVK and VKD3D

You conveniently blocked the part of the sticker saying what they mean by "never obsolete" with the red circle. IIRC, they gave you a massive discount to trade in your computer every 2 years for the latest model, so you were always up to date. Kinda like phones now.

Because the US provides tons of money and weapons to Israel, which are supposed to be used for self-defense but are now being used to mass murder Palestinians.

I think that's why Kamala is skyrocketing in the polling averages. We actually have a candidate who is energetic and fights back against the Republican candidate instead of trying to just ignore it and try not to offend anyone.

Cognizant, a professional services company that Alphabet contracted the YouTube Music team through, said in a statement that the workers were let go after their contract ended at its intended date, according to KXAN in Austin.

A spokesperson for Google told Business Insider that Cognizant is responsible for ending the workers' employment, not Google.

"Contracts with our suppliers across the company routinely end on their natural expiry date, which was agreed to with Cognizant," the company said in a statement.

Not sure how much of the fault is from Google's side here since the employees contracted from another company.

Wine uses VKD3D and DXVK, not the other way around. People have even used DXVK on Windows to improve performance in certain situations.

CA just does universal mail in ballots. I can read about the issues and candidates at home while filling out the ballot and then walk a block to a letter drop box to submit my ballot. Then I can just track its status online. It's great.

Bioasphalts can be made from all sorts of non-petroleun renewable resources, including food wastes and sewerage effluent: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioasphalt

I think the main challenge now will be determining the ideal mix of ingredients that best suit the purpose of the asphalt.

How often are you around teens though? My dad is a high school teacher and his students are always surprised and ask him why he has an Android and not an iPhone.

Because you bought a really cheap TV and the little feet on the sides are cheaper than a center stand that needs to be much heavier and sturdier.

The Nvidia driver on Wayland has been decent for a couple of years and stabilized a lot over the past ~6 months. The flickering issue was specific to XWayland. Normal Wayland apps don't have flickering problems (not quite sure why tbh), but XWayland apps would often rapidly flicker between 2 frames since it only supported implicit sync, which confused the Nvidia driver, which only supports explicit sync. Now with a Wayland protocol for explicit sync, XWayland can be updated to support it and resolve the flickering there.

Apparently it doesn't get chunky. It's pretty popular in Pakistan: https://www.eater.com/2017/6/20/15793584/doodh-soda-doodh-7up-milk-pakistan

Ones that are built into the CPU's hardware but you have to pay extra to unlock like a DLC for your CPU. That's not a joke, Intel's new Xeons are like that.

I used to use this when I still had a hard drive, but this does nothing for performance if you're on an SSD and profile writes are so few with browsers that it doesn't significantly affect drive wear. In the end, all this does is make it more likely that something will break.

On stock (Pixel) Android, if you enable Developer Options, there is a setting under Networking called "Wi-Fi non-persistent MAC randomization" that randomizes the MAC per connection for networks that have randomization enabled.

It wasn't common sense at the time. Germ theory wouldn't exist for another 20 years after Semmelweis's discovery. His idea of "corpse particles that might turn a living person into a corpse after contact" seemed superstitious and crazy at the time. It was only after germ theory that we learned that these "corpse particles" were in fact germs.

You mean the boxing federation filled corruption and that was disqualified by the Olympics?

You need the red ones with the purple flesh, not the pink with white flesh. The red have much more flavor

To be fair, the article is from the LA Times. Maybe your local newspaper can do a similar comparison.

Biblically accurate xeyes? I need a Wayland version asap.

Pixel Shift and Pixel Refresh are monitor hardware features, not managed by the OS.

SteamOS is definitely at a point where I could see it being used on other handhelds now. Valve wants to eventually open it up to be installed on any device, so it might be a smart move for MSI to talk with Valve to support SteamOS on their new handheld.

Yeah, I almost never really care when someone says stupid crap or is trolling on Lemmy (or the old place), but his comments were pretty extreme misinformation, so I was one of the people that reported him. Thanks for taking action.

People made that point about Hollow Knight. At $15, people will assume it's poor quality or a short game, when it actually has tons of content and is better quality than most AAA games. HK is a rare example of a game that's too cheap.

They don't really though. They're talking about selling steam keys in a different platform, not selling the game on a different platform (like Epic Games for instance). You can sell the game for cheaper on Epic or GOG if you want to.

But why this instead of DXVK or VKD3D? Those can just as easily be integrated.

Because centipedes vary a lot between species. The house centipede only has up to 15 pairs (30 legs): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutigera_coleoptrata

I don't think the games themselves missing is the problem, it's probably the source code they want

Mainly because Steam actually provides a really good quality service. Most corporations over time charge more while getting worse on quality. People can sell their games for cheaper on Epic which only has a 12% fee, but Epic's service is much worse.

There are also temperature limits on hot drinks so the drinks aren't hot enough to literally melt and fuse skin together.
