got it wrong
No? No they got exactly what they wanted. They'll be able to annex all of Gaza and eventually the west bank.
They sacrificed their people to accomplish their colonist goals. The plan went swimmingly.
Just post your searches and questions here and we'll try to figure it out.
Just want to thank everyone here, reading this, on the decentralized unbought future of the web. We all collectively made the content, be it posting, commenting, making the yt videos or writing the articles..
Big tech didn't make the world of the Internet or the data within, we did; all big tech did was steal it from us. They erected walls to exclude us from the gardens we built and planted.
Just by being here and participating, you are making the difference. Keep making content because if your passions and because you like to. Keep commenting, shit posting, debating, arguing, and being debaucherous. The future is ours, not theirs.
thank you
This disgusts me.
Aaron Is one of my heroes. He died standing up for something he believed in.
You son of a bitch, I'm in.
I'm just gonna be straight up that probably none of you have any real experience with VC. Just statistically, it's probably the case. It's anecdotal, but I want to share my story.
I helped found a company about three years ago. It's a software/ services company that focuses on specific kinds of climate change risk. No I won't tell you who we are. Anyways, me and my cofounders are first time founders, although we both have built business segments within companies, this was our first time in our own. We did try for VC that first year. We basically got rejected all around. What I learned is that the basic function of VC isn't to fund good ideas. It's a filter to keep opportunities in the hands of those who already have them. It's a kind of social filter to make sure only the "right" kind of people get funded. It's pure credentialism and institutionalism. Anyways, several of our competitors took the cash. As a result, they ballooned in head count and we're forced to do things the way the vcs expected them to. As a result, almost all of these companies failed or pivoted. We didn't get funded. We got rejected by all fronts. Instead we just built our client base one brick at a time. Well, now their customers are our customers. We're signing deals with the big names and still haven't taken VC money. We've got the best in class technology and they are bleeding money.
VC is a poison pill. It's not there to drive innovation but to filter down who has access to opportunities. Their ideas about what works or doesn't are bad, and largely driven by the culture they are apart of. They worship elitism and credentials, but will the respect for those who are willing to do the work. It's inherently extractive. They add nothing. Want to kill a business? Take VC money.
We need the media to start taking this shit seriously and stop "both sidsing" shit like the insurrection or the fourteenth amendment.
Of all the things that are likely to effectively separate him from his base, this is the best angle I think we've seen taken since 2015.
Appeals to their better nature haven't worked because they simply do not have one.
Bruh the only politician who has been flattened in the past 24 hours was Ebrahim Raisi.
Everyone here should know, this is due to you and the conversations you've been having, media you've been supporting, and any actions you've taken to directly protest, letter write, etc.
Activism works. Being annoying af works. Simply changing the media you consume has an impact. Conservatives get what they want from their elected officials because they demand it. You too can demand things of your elected officials (so long as you can hold them to consequence, ie, the problem with bnmw).
Bro this isn't news. Its r/TheDonald, Lemmygrad, and half of youtube and facebook. This has been happening since 2016.

Hi from the stuff posting system.
If you are using twitter, you support this.

Because nothing about Trump has changed.
I hate to be a pessimist but if people hate Musk as much as they seem to, but can't leave twitter,
or post "Fuck Spez" thousands of times, but won't leave reddit,
I'm cautious about how much of an exodous I expect to see from chrome.
I think its time we face the fact that most people will trade almost anything for convenience.
This is legal Germany?
Not everything has to be a buisness.
This is the part that Silicon Valley doesn't get. We can, do, and need good things that don't make money.
Just like youtube, they think they made this.
What they don't get is that they are actually passengers on other peoples creativity.
It'll be fine. Just need to keep investing in opensource, openaccess alternatives.
We guccii.
Because the 'numbers' that neoliberals have decided are the indicators of a "good" economy mean almost nothing to, in all likely hood, 95% of Americans.
Measuring the right thing leads to inconvenient conclusions (age till retirement, income at retirement, income independence, buying power, home ownership, business ownership, union membership, etc.)
Bro people were eating tidepods and we saw a resurgence of nazism and white nationlism.
I think we at least know the effects of what was happening before.
I used some tools to corrupt about 10 years of comments and posts of mine.
Its a bit pedantic, but I'm not really sure I support this kind of extremist view of copyright and the scale of whats being interpreted as 'possessed' under the idea of copyright. Once an idea is communicated, it becomes a part of the collective consciousness. Different people interpret and build upon that idea in various ways, making it a dynamic entity that evolves beyond the original creator's intention. Its like issues with sampling beats or records in the early days of hiphop. Its like the very principal of an idea goes against this vision, more that, once you put something out into the commons, its irretrievable. Its not really yours any more once its been communicated. I think if you want to keep an idea truly yours, then you should keep it to yourself. Otherwise you are participating in a shared vision of the idea. You don't control how the idea is interpreted so its not really yours any more.
If thats ChatGPT or Public Enemy is neither here nor there to me. The idea that a work like Peter Pan is still possessed is such a very real but very silly obvious malady of this weirdly accepted but very extreme view of the ability to possess an idea.
'rightfully' is doing a lot of lifting here.
Yeah.. so I had a trap house move into the abandoned house next to mine.
Lots people spouting off with this and that and the other but won't give you advice that works. And advice that works? Banana bread.
Dead ass. Make them banana bread. Monthly if not weekly. Make them notice when it's not there.
We did this with the gang / crews that would rotate through next door. Was a rolling assemblage of cardroom, drug spot, ladies, just depended on the crew.
But I'll have you know, they do not fuck with the house that makes them banana bread. We ask them to not having people smoking and talking around outside? Next day, signs up on the porch "No smoking or hanging around", same with music, you name it. Obviously there are limits, but it took what could have been a terrible situation and made it bearable.
For this to work you have to change you attitude. Eventually they got busted by the feds, but once we had made "neighbors" with them, the rest was easy. They even started moving the trap house lawn. Respect earns respect. Change your attitude and you might be able to change the situation.
You'll rent frontal cortex space to AI processesing and be happy.
REally?
Judge Wallace you are a complete fucking buffoon.
Either he did or did not engage in the insurrection. If he did he's off the ballot. If he did not, then he's off the hook.
This coward judge has doomed us all.
I dont have any direct experience with reddit any longer.
What I can say, is that I think a verrrrrrry significant portion of comments and commenters are actually reddit run bots. My source for this is my experience in the daily thread of a certain degenerate gambling forum. There were maybe like 12-30 posters who would reply, engage, etc... in the daily and day after threads. However, there was a yyyyyuuuuugggge number of accounts that would just comment with no real further engagement. Like you would respond to them, but they wouldnt respond back.
I truly believe that reddits internal business model is predicted on the use of reddit run bots to create synthetic engagement in certain audiences around marketing targets that a selective group of advertisers (read, not buying reddit ads) are given access to. The basics is that reddit astroturfs synthetic engagement until organic engagement takes over. I have no way of proving this and its pure speculation.
This is why I don't even worry about considering the user numbers on lemmy. Relying on my anectdotal experience, we've got about the usership/ engagement numbers from around the 2009-2011 time period, which is actually pretty amazing. Also, the overall lemmy experience is far superior, for example, just the ability to sort by a couple of different 'hot' options is a major improvement. I really think if the devs just keep vibing on their plan, lemmy will be more than strong enough to survive and continue for decades to come.
The fact is that reddit stole from us our faith in a 'good internet'. The users of reddit built reddit, not the company that owns it (they suck). The users of reddit paid for the server time and made the system work. That good faith was utterly exploited by the leadership of reddit and we should never forget how they stole from and exploited their community.
Idk but I've heard his running mate is pan-sectional.
It's pushing us into extremely weird territory to have two candidates this unpopular.
Her ruling makes no sense and shows complete disregard for the 14th amendment.
