I just read that the US blocked this. https://lemmy.world/post/20190872

Now I'm confused.

I guess all people can be assholes so no doubt there are bad royal mail postmen. However my experience is royal mail have been the exception. They knock and wait.

Amazon however, especially since COVID, dump and run. This hasn't been the norm in the UK but now they do it all the time.

It won't be long before we get porch pirates like in the US.

Who is buying the phones? The parents. So the parents buy their children a phone and then surprised Pikachu?

Ext4 being "old" shouldn't put you off. It is demonstratively robust with a clear history of structure integrity. It has immense popularity and a good set of recovery tools and documentation. These are exactly what you are looking for in a filesystem.

I'm not saying EXT4 is the best for your requirements, just that age of a file system is like fine wine.

Windows asks for this permission when a program needs to accept unsolicited incoming network requests. Not something a browser normally requires.

God can you imagine.

768 collapsed areas for each one. You have to expand that area and click the small slider with a 3 second UI freeze each time you do.

Then at the end when you click apply, you get a spinning wheel with "Applying your choices" that seems like it has timed out.

Reading this as a non-American, it feels surreal. How can such a basic right be stripped from all women, and then have men stand up and defend such a disgusting situation. Do they have no shame? No moral compass?

The comments suggesting the system sends 2 screenshots a second is truly worrying.

I have my dream domain. It was being squatted for a similar amount. I offered £100 and it was declined, I offered £250 and they replied to tell me the domain is easily worth the £2K, well sort after etc. I told them that this is my surname, and I'm not a corporation with unlimited funds and they can take the offer or leave it. 15 minutes later the offer was accepted. I was so happy. Still am chuffed about it.

Except it's nearly always a 12 hour clock :/

It is likely he was at fault.

Sen. John Fetterman was briefly hospitalized after rear-ending another driver on a Maryland highway

Lumberyard is the name of the engine used to make New World, which has zombies

What are these sizes from? All my Linux installs start with <20G root disks and end up with some spare.

And Windows at 72G? Whilst it's more than Linux it's not that much.

Everything on the internet is fake

Federation connections are by domain name, so .. it is a big deal

If you use Mettle, the phone based bank, you get FreeAgent for free. FreeAgent is a really good web based accounting package that works in Firefox. They gave a useful accompanying API and can do payroll, VAT, end of year and director self assessment. It's great.

These people can't have a shred of empathy. The homeless being treated like vermin. People at the lowest point of their lives, when they need help the most, are mistreated awfully by those in power.

And also, how has the US got itself into a position where LGBTQ+ needs to be suppressed? Gay or not, why should these homophobic politicians get to decide what the children can be exposed to without involving the parents in the decision.

This is device management and isn't something that is the default, or comes with Outlook.

A less intrusive method is application management which gives the company control to wipe the account, not the device.

That's dark man. You okay? Need a hug?

Lemmy has a serious boner for hating on Microsoft.

If they were an "absent mod" as they self-proclaim, why are they so salty?

The was a long sentence. I imagined you gasping for breath at the end.

Fantastic. 🍿

I also immediately switched off when the YouTuber started talking.

I got sick of all the trump, biden and now Harris posts. So I added filters to ignore them. I can scroll through "top twelve hours" in about 15 minutes.

It's reducing my phone addiction which is good

They had 10 million domains (according to the article). Even with a successful business they drop stuff. Maybe I am a fool!

We aren't all racist. Far right are just incredibly vocal. It's the same everywhere. Left leaning population are also quieter.

An interesting concept that unfortunately exposed awful people. I never let my kids on there because every 4th visitor was a penis. It had the potential to connect people. A shame it was abused.

It seems like the writing is leaning on being negative.

"These 2 games don't work, even with FSR"

Okay, legitimate issue.

"This game doesn't without FSR"

That's what FSR is for, and now you don't want to use it. This isn't an issue.

Whilst it's a shame this implementation sucks, I wish we would get intelligent traffic light controls that worked. Sitting at a light for 90 seconds in the dead of night without a car in sight is frustrating.

I think it goes from 20 to 5. 10 if you're not anonymous. To get more you need to have contributed to the site, monetarily or other wise.

What about Shrek

You decided to use as an example the only company known to not overstep in this regard. Steam has historically refunded in full the cost of games that have been withdrawn. It's likely the agreements for these are part of the requirements of publishers rather than the platform itself, as well as the reasons to withdraw them.

Reminds me of the package "cmatrix"

Add the sticky group bit to the directory so that new files are created with the group of the directory.

chmod 2775 /path/to/samba/public```

Now any new file will have group "users".

Been bought by square spaces.

Squarespace announced today it has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement with Google, whereby Squarespace will acquire the assets associated with the Google Domains business, which will be winding down following a transition period. This purchase includes approximately 10 million domains hosted on Google Domains spread across millions of customers.
