Well that's going to get cancelled. Think of the non binary folk out there!

Melbourne street fashion. Literally asian style pump flip flops with socks half way up your calves. 80s tracksuit baggies. Trying REALLY hard to look like they're not trying. The city is loving it.

Edit. Whoops, didn't see TECH

This ended up working perfectly

...aaaand DONE and tested. That was amazingly simple, when there's a framework like that to work, and learn from. Thanks again.

I love this, I will update the script I've setup to mirror your idea. Nice and clean.

I wonder if you can help at all? The only app that fails install is Anydesk. I have to do the following:

# Anydesk
sudo tee /etc/yum.repos.d/anydesk.repo<"

Is there a special way to add that kind of command to a bash script? All good apart from that though.

ok, thank you. I'll address that, in that case. Thanks again!

EDIT, and resolved. Thanks again.

oh that is VERY nice, I even have a lenovo laptop. I think that will get me started for sure. Thank you

I do use docker, and compose a lot. But can it be used for desktop apps? Telegram, gimp, Thunderbird, etc?

Imagine reading that headline 20 years ago.

My wife is nearly home. System alerts me. I quickly tidy my day's mess. She doesn't need that after a big day.

She arrives. Gate opens for her automatically.

As she approaches the door, the light turns on for her.

Her night time play lists starts on low volume, overriding mine.

A leopard approaches the house. The house robot with bolt on subscriptions, (the expensive "hunt and defend" add on), wreaks carnage on said leopard, only to find it was a child trick or treating. Lawyers for subscription bot are arranging payment to child's family for their lost family member.

All in all, it's really useful.

Remind me in 3 days. That shit should be against the law. There should be a don't bug me ever again option.

There's just no need anymore. Lemmy has boomed, and we have our own content. Reddit is not really relevant anymore.

And I just cancelled. Fuck them. This is 1990's pay TV repeating itself. I'm not playing that part of history again.

We've all moved on to Godot.

Thank the gods for Godot, because without it, everyone would have been screwed.

If they're public, they have huge pressure. If not, they can play their own game with a specific strategy that a shareholder might not like. So this could well be a good thing. Public trading usually leads to enshitification.

They want to harvest the data, without Google's control, and give none to Google.

Ok. What am I in the dark about this time?

You're that stinky guy, still in his 20's, who doesn't think he stinks right?

Good. Firefox is the answer.

Alternate headline : "Supermarkets have jacked the prices so high, making record profits in tough times, that people have resorted to stealing in order to live".

I saw a shitty looking steak at coles the other day, over $60 a KG. It had bloody RFID sensors on it. What a world.

Water.

It's basically a re-education camp, to prove you're now a good citizen. This is a corporation, mind you. The dark times we live in.

We went out recently. Purchased 4 x small red wines. Plastic cups. $100. I nearly died. It's out of control.

I've moved on. Lemmy is where it's at. I only post on reddit to promote lemmy now :-) It's my new game. Polite and respectful suggestion of an alternative. But, it's better to just be here, get to know people, figure out how it works and enjoy the learning experience

Local here. We all use Linux desktop. Libre office. Gimp. Krita. Inkscape. Vscodium. Thunderbird. Sublime. Etc etc. We have a programmer who favoured Windows. We finally converted him. Now we only have the mac laptop to deal with having to do osx builds.

Some people are making fun about this, but if you look at the history of the steam store and how Gabe is focusing so heavily on Linux, it is because he is concerned that Microsoft is going to shut down Win32 and he will be absolutely screwed.

Due to this, he is creating a safety net for himself and is pushing Linux hard as an alternative to Microsoft Windows so that he can not be so reliant on Microsoft and what they choose to do and not do. Specifically when it comes to win 32.

Not at all. The only thing taking time to build here are the art communities, but they're growing. So I'm patient and am trying to contribute

Where do you think Australian colonialism comes from?

I am so sick of these rubbish licensing efforts calling themselves Open Souce. Fair code is a new atrocity.

There is no repository link. There is no open source code.

Pay liveable wages like the rest of the developed world, with medical, retirement contributions, and taxes all sorted. Then you don't have to tip.

I've learned to walk away. I used to bite, hard. But now I might give them the accurate answer then leave their tirade and maybe even block them. I have this lovely wife. Great kids. I'd rather put down phone and see what they're up to than engage with some guy online who probably doesn't even whipe their own arse.

I have projects. Games that were in the google play store. One had hundreds of thousands of downloads. Then Google pulled it as I didn't maintain it. But, I have to pull artwork out, sound effects, etc that can not be included. And that's just time. I don't have much of that, that's due sure.

"Pro"

Ahem. Yeah right

It's called Godot. It is basically on its path to becoming the Blender of game engines.

I was honestly looking at one. No more.

Are there any open source alternatives?
