New Reddit refugee here. Question on moderationlocked

kwekkie@lemmy.world to Reddit@lemmy.world – -62 points –

Hi! I came here looking for an alternative to Reddit which is less of a liberal echo chamber. It looks good, even more responsive. But I wonder, how is the moderation here? Biggest problem I have with Reddit is that it is becoming increasingly impossible to have discussions about "sensitive topics". Even if you are being civil, there is a chance you will just straight out get banned for saying something which liberals do not like. How does Lemmy compare? Thanks.

In theory that would go for subreddits as well. But that's not the whole story. I got suspended from ALL of Reddit because of "hate speech". Not just the subreddit. I think it might be because users reported the comment, but I'm not sure.

If you got suspended for Reddit because of hate speech, maybe it's time to self-reflect about why everyone thinks your speech is hateful, rather than trying to find more and more awful and esoteric places in which to speak.

I know exactly why it is and I simply don't agree.

Wow, it's hilarious you're accusing other people of living in an echo chamber.
