This is why when companies merge it's always a bad thing

VMware was going to hell before the acquisition. Openshift adoption far greater since VMware raised prices.

But that's wrong. AMD merged with Xilinx to enhance their product portfolio. They are doing a lot of AI products now, so it was partially an acquihire.
