Lemmy.world grew by about 40% on the first day of reddit migration
Lemmy.world grew from around 51000 total users the moment 3rd party reddit apps started to shut down on June 30 to 71000 total users at the time of this post (July 1). That's a 40% growth in about 12 hours!

Lemmy itself isn’t slow, but many instance admins are struggling with performance scale due to the huge user growth. It’ll settle out, just bear with ‘em.
It's a hug of death right now with all the new users pouring in. Give it some time to settle and for admins to scale up the infrastructure.
