BP has halted all shipments of oil and gas through the Red Sea after a step-up in attacks on cargo ships by Houthi militants in Yemen.
The British oil company said on Tuesday that it had paused shipping in the region indefinitely, citing a “deteriorating security situation” amid tensions in the Middle East.
BP becomes the first oil company to directly halt its own shipping, after five big shipping companies stopped their vessels passing through the waters between Asia and Africa which connect Asia and Europe, with the Suez canal at the tip.

There are reasons besides Israel to use the Red Sea. Like, a little known thing named the "Suez Canal", it's kind of a secret, very unknown, you should look it up.
Yemeni policy isn't to blockade the Red Sea, but to blockade Israeli trade through the Red Sea. Hong Kong's OOCL has taken the approach of simply halting Israeli shipments instead and still freely transits the Red Sea.
Well, they're not just hitting shipments to Israel are they and it's certainly not "Yemeni policy" as the Houthis are far from constituting the Yemen government.
Maybe, just maybe, you should just allow food to be sent into Gaza, then?
