It's one of the most interesting new phones (at least for me). Moderate pricing, long support, good hardware. And probably many options like LineageOS or Graphene if you want a custom operating system.
The design is also noticeably softer and cuter than previous Pixels, which may appeal more to some.

I got mine for $300 because I'm also on a Fi plan. But I'm sure most phones can be subsidized similarly.
Does Google Fi allow for OEM unlocking (to install a custom ROM)?
I use a pixel from the google store on google fi and had no issues flashing new roms, Cellular worked fine with lineage and graphene on my 6a.
