Fairytale setting, but a quick google to see if you can stay there, and ‘girls boarding school run by nuns’ gives a darker vibe.
I don't think that you can stay at Kylemore Abbey. But there are plenty of fairytale castle hotels in Ireland (these for example). Not sure if their history is any less dark though.
