Oil companies helped write ‘first draft’ of Canadian plan for tackling carbon emissions

An advisory group helped the federal government draft a highly anticipated climate change strategy that was due to be released in 2022 but is now over a year late. Its members included managers from oil companies Suncor, Shell, executives at BMO and Scotiabank, representatives from a cement industry lobby group and from several clean technology firms, according to the department.
