Look at that. An email address that will be instantly added to every spammers list. And they know the owner has money too.

I don't use Instagram, but I also don't want any politics in my cereal, so that would be fine here.

You're not likely going to get any real help since you're insisting on using the browser in an extreme and unconventional way. Your little world is just one browser/OS crash from losing all of those tabs.

Off topic, but what's with the overprotective DO NOT COPY WITHOUT PERMISSION statement on the article image? It's a screenshot of KDE, not the author's own work...

You got a free protection plan, according to the image you posted.

I've disabled it for now. Rooted phone is enormously more valuable to me than RCS that only half works right to begin with.

"If someone recommends Brave to you, you should ignore them, because they are wrong."

I stopped reading here. If you would like to present objective technical arguments, please try not to sound like a 5 year old "I'm right, you're wrong, blah blah".

Use Brave or use Firefox. They both work great for privacy, but I find Brave is easier to configure to be private.

Um, if you're security minded, you're already staying far away from Authy, so I'm not really sure what the article's focus is.

That said, I'm using 2fa all day long on Grapheneos. No issue. And prior to Grapheneos, I ran rooted and had been using Authy with no issue, so this kind of sounds like an advertisement piece for Authy.

Data mining.

So this is Google’s version of Microsoft tracking. Microsoft does it with Windows and Edge, Google does it with proxies. Sad.

It's ok. Everyone else will do it for them.

I can barely see it with the naked eye, but my night sight android camera makes it bright reddish.

Some posters will have modified the image but not all.

Just ran through that list of bugs and don't see my issue that happens all the time. I guess I'll have to add a ticket.

My bug is when minimizing and restoring windows (fedora plasma 6 latest version), the first time or two it is smooth, but a few more times and it gets really jerky. It acts like a memory leak somewhere.

I just found Futo keyboard. Works very well and has offline voice input that works great.

I love tab previews, but I would hate to give up vertical tabs for it. If they would implement vertical tabs + previews, I for one would be happy.

Anyone know a way to mimic Brave vertical tabs with preview? I can get close, but without preview images and that's what I'm after.

So they get to keep their Ad Privacy malware and cookies. Sounds like that was their endgame.

The fact that they specifically mentioned those search engines, when I checked back in late March, was a selling point for me.

In not sure I would have even tried it if I only saw the new wording.

Searches are good on Kagi though, but Brave Search Premium is trying to catch my attention.

Might be easier to just disable reviews on Amazon if you’re trying to block fake reviews lol.

Do you pinky promise?

It seems to be how apps can link themselves to a URL. This service just verifies the link is good.

Here is a writeup on it: https://grapheneos.org/usage#app-link-verification

It's sad that Microsoft insists on such a dangerous idea in the name of profits.

Article mentions 3rd party launcher gesture issues, but I've never seen this problem. I used to use Nova but switched to Smart launcher for the blur, but at no time have gestures been an issue. Any ideas what they mean?

The comments in the OP link say it's Catwalk. I don't know what Catwalk is though. 🙂

Edit: it's a CPU monitor.

"Telemetry was added to create an aggregate count of searches by category to broadly inform search feature development. These categories are based on 20 high-level content types, such as "sports,” "business," and "travel". "

There are some addons for Firefox that can extract tables and other things. Search “tables” in the addon store and see what’s there.

While you're at it, check out their other product, Icon Pack Studio. It's the last icon pack you'll ever need.

Try a different launcher like Nova Launcher or Smart Launcher.

I went to Phoenix, AZ, completely expecting sand dunes, because it's a desert. It was then I learned there are different types of desert.

Thank you for recommending this. Gesture typing works great with the added library, and text suggestions are working nicely too!

So it might be that Fairphone is not aware how to make the notification bar transparent. It's a setting in android development they can enable. (Disclaimer: I'm not a developer.)

With that in mind, they seem to be saying it was intentional to hide their lack of knowledge. It's simply unreasonable that any developer would want such a hideous defect permanently at the top of the home screen.

On a positive note, I believe android 15 is supposed to correct this when the developer does not.

I'm really impressed at how well I'm staying alive...wow!

Been using smart launcher for a while. I like that the pro version offers blur.

I'm guessing these are changes for chrome users? I haven't seen any of those new AI changes. Granted I don't use Google primarily, and was only testing a few times.

Feel free to use your browser how you want, but I will feel free to not help you troubleshoot your problem because it won't help you in the end.

So I just got here to Lemmy, and only briefly have checked out some of the apps, but Connect is my favorite so far. It looks good and let's me hide posts.

Hmmm. I wonder what your password is? 😁

I actually sincerely went into the article hoping for logical technical explanations. But I can't justify listening to someone who starts off with "I'm right you're wrong". It's childish.

The fact is that all browser companies have their problems. I'm interested only in the technical aspects. For example, why is there a whole spec sheet of config settings to make Firefox private against Mozilla? Why does Mozilla continue to install spyware alongside Windows installations (default browser task) ? Why do I have to remove feature plugins, with each major update that assist Mozilla with telemetry and adware, despite Mozilla claiming to have removed those long ago? Why do I have to turn off Normandy? Why should Normandy exist in a so called private browser?

This is what I'm looking for... Not "I'm right you're wrong".

Good thing I wasn't replying to the down voters. OP got my response and that is what I wanted. 🙂

Unable to install it on pixel 8. It keeps crashing package installer. Tried direct apk install and through Fdroid. Latest version of app version 2.4.0.

Still no fix for the confused half-rounded, half-squared window decoration? Looks tacky.
