I remember seeing some clip where he schooled a batista about some whipped cream that's melted. Niel, they are just trying to get through their day while not making enough money. They don't need a thermodynamics lessons in the middle of the shift.

There are millions of youtube videos uploaded every single day. Why do I always get the exact same stuff in my recommendations? And why does YouTube shorts keep playing the same clips over and over again? Even the ones I disliked.

I installed Linux Mint a few days ago. It's been great so far.

I am and old millennial and have pretty much considered my wife and I somewhat upper middle class. We never paid attention to grocery prices, took a vacation every year and were able to put away money for retirement. And while I am fortunate enough to still be doing well, that comfort and buffer we had has all but dissappeared in the pandemic.

I wonder it's because it attracted a bunch of people who weren't into games, but are huge Harry Potter fans.

BRB, let me go create another fork.

I am convinced that being "smart" in high school and college stunted my career. I didn't do any work in high school, and had like 2 classes that I'd consider difficult in college. I never learned the value of hard work.

I agree with you 100% but even adoption has been corrupted. Go to petfinder.com and search for a doodle. You will instantly see a bunch of puppies that are clearly from the same litter with an "adoption fee" of $800. I recently learned it's called "retail rescue".

We need to start heavily regulating breeders and educating the public.

I turned 41 this year. First snowflakes of the season still put a huge grin on my face.

Biden is getting my vote in November, but not during the primary.

Any advice for an alternative for Japanese learning? I am on a two week streak and getting ready to give up because it's super repetitive.

I've been using for the last 2 years becuase I don't know how to exit it.

I picked a really bad time to visit Japan for the first time. To anyone Japanese reading this, I promise to be respectful.

At the time some people did say that this is a start of something horrible. How right they were.

There are way too many games out there for me to care anymore. Once i build my new PC, its Linux only. If it doesn't run on Linux, I don't need to play it.

Oh, how I've missed seeing the number of downvotes.

A few dozen boards games, some crazy expensive. The most recent one was the Witcher which was a Kickstarter campaign. I bought a label maker, small zip lock bags, spent a few hours punching out paper tokens and and sorting everything. Haven't played a single game.

Even though I consider myself technically savvy and I could have saved money with a DIY solution, I went with synology and I couldn't be happier. It took me just one day to get it up and running with everything I needed. Including shucking the drives.

Including stuff like fentanyl and tranq and allow anybody to buy it?

One thing I will also suggest is looking into https://home.tdarr.io/. It's software that will re-encode your media to h265, saving you a lot of space. I just set it up on my synology NAS because I am at 80% storage and don't feel like buying another drive yet.

Relay for me. I really hope that someone ends up implementing some kind of translation layer for the reddit API that would encourage the existing reddit apps to supper Lemmy.

Make Netflix more convenient than my ARR setup and I'll happily come back.

Portal 2 has a coop mode which I hear is great. I adore portal 1 and 2, but never got a chance to try coop.

Why is a 5 year old device still the best bet? It's frustrating that nothing better exists on the market.

Having gone out with my Asian in-laws I had to get used to the idea of nobody getting their own dish. Dishes are bought for the entire table and shared. Many Chinese restaurants will even have a lazy susan (a spinning disk in the middle of the table) that makes it easy to move dishes around and keep them accessible.

There are so many good games out there, I can simply skip the ones that don't run on Linux.

I think the trick will be to make more generic subs. There probably aren't enough users to have a dedicated "Zelda Tears of the Kingdom" sub, but "Nintendo" can actually gain traction. Anyone wanting to create a community should see if there's already one that might satisfy the needs.

This sounds cool, but the name is unfortunate due to Google's gemini

It's the only way to play if you don't want the game to last for three days.

What's the benefit of running your own instance?

I don't think this works on mobile, but on a desktop click the meatball menu next to the link, click the arrow for more options and click "cached"

This might eventually help us understand how to extend human lives.

It's 7am and just got back from my run. I am sitting outside catching my breath and listening to the birds sing. It's quite beautiful.

Won't there also be evidence of raw materials that got mined out?

Yes, it will absolutely be a barrier to entry to many. Especially people who never used discussion boards. Before reddit, I was an active member on a dozen or so boards, and always wished there was a simpler way for them to interact. So, Lemmy makes sense to me.

Toggling Scroll Lock on and off every five seconds is what I do. This way I can see the little light on the keyboard to confirm the script is running.

Not a suggestion, but I have tried reading comics on a 10 inch tablet and I hated it. I think it may have to do with the pixel density. I ended up picking up a yoga tab 13 (13") and I love it. I read the entire Saga series on it.

Actually, it the nitrogen that is used for carbonation as opposed to CO2. Give it a much more velvety mouth feel.
