Well I’m sure many others will also say

“peace”

I don’t think a single one of us came here to see it wrecked or taken over.

That being said, I do not like facebook and likely won’t stay on servers that federate with them. Especially if the instances start abiding by facebooks terms. That’s where I’m drawing the line.

That is the beauty of the Fediverse. You choose your landing and build your aggregation based off that.

A large issue I see is people coming here and expecting privacy to be default. By nature the Fediverse is actually more public than a centralized service would be. There is almost unrestricted access to what you post from anywhere within the Fediverse.

People need to keep this in mind when posting.

It is considered a plant.

Interestingly they are non chlorophyll plants that feed off certain fungi.

I’m kinda at a loss for words.

This isn’t even trying to be different from Twitter from what I see here.

I’m almost willing to put money on the fact Facebook likely has shady stuff buried in “Threads” code. The sheer invasiveness of them just makes it hard to think otherwise.

I tend to post a lot of pictures taken while hiking. Also flowers and whatnot. I really only do day hikes though, back and hip can’t handle the ground like it used to.

They already advertised this in a way though.

I think one of the links for IG is Threads.instagram.con

That alone made me think they’re going to end up finding a way to merge the two or make them paired.

Enjoying it so far. It is definitely taking some getting used to. Was testing Liftoff! And now on Memmy. Finding Memmy to be more enjoyable especially with being able to set dark for ease of visibility.

This is why I have a barebones Facebook account. Simply so people can reach me that only use that.

This being said it is also sandboxed into web browsers and I refuse to give them permissions for my phone.

I haven’t clicked that link. Just your description is making me think of Bloody Panda.
