So its gone from loosing quality to just giving incomplete answers. Its clearly developed depression, and its because of us.

They give us every reason not to, a country that doesnt care for its own is not worth fighting for.

How bout, now hear me out, we build more and better housing. I'm not throwing Grandma and Grandpa to the curb I'm overthrowing Capitalism first

Its much more than "the internet is worse". Everything technology is worse, can't have nice things.

I've got an idea, how bout stop using the same technology from 20 years ago?

Hello my fellow Ohioan

Patience young one, Wayland just implemented that protocol, it'll be here soon

If we could get standardized and interoperable electric car parts, that'd be great.

Not that I'd want to respect it for companies like Rockstar. They rigged a good game to turn it into a cash cow.

Once Wine gets proper Wayland support instead of running through Xwayland the fps situation will change.

And for Slack/Discord they'd have Wayland support if they didnt use ancient Electron versions.

The electoral college complicates things by having each state be its own separate popular vote.

Two states, Nebraska and Maine, will split their electoral votes based on their popular vote. But the rest of the states just give all their electoral votes to their popular vote winner.

The core issue is that a presidential candidate can win 50.1% of the vote in a state and will receive all electoral votes as if 100% of the state voted for him.

A secondary issue is that electoral votes aren't equal. Each state has a minimum of three electoral votes. This creates a situation where Wyoming, a state who's population is smaller than our capital Washington D.C., has more voting power per person per electoral vote than California; the most populous state.

I've contemplated not tipping altogether, already thought it was stupid. Your paycheck should not depend on someone's charity.

I never understood the IBM/Redhat hate being directed at Fedora. Imagine being against using Debian because of the Ubuntu Amazon fiasco that happened years back.

Firefox is faster at loading webpages and content than Chrome, and thats without adblockers. The only thing Chrome is good at is being a webapp and spyware platform.

All this control, yet MacOS still doesn't have Window tiling

Oh the humanity, a shame if someone made a script and distributed it with instructions on how to use it.

Now KDE needs to implement a consistent design language for its apps, clean up its settings, and have better defaults. Not asking KDE to copy Gnome, just that it needs a lot more work to be palletable to someone using it for the first time.

The Arm support is there, its just not upstreamed because companies don't like sharing

Windows's ability to troubleshoot itself or at least point you in the direction of a solution is non-existent. One reason I switch to Linux fully.

I yearn for the days when my toaster just made toast.

There's a line that needs to be drawn between things that benefit from IoT and things that should've remained dumb

Its opensource, assuming the new owners move it to a less favorable license just fork the last good version and continue from there.

I'll never understand brand loyalty, for the price of a Mac you can get a machine that's 10x more powerful with the same software being available in Windows.

Still holding out for PC3

We'll find a way, trust me. Its just an exuse for ever more detailed data.

I just stopped tipping altogether. Became the change I want to see.

Too bad, so sad

Correction, a small country and a kitchen appliciance of your choice

Opensource has a forking problem. So much time spent maintaing projects with only a few tweaks differentiating them.

Mint at least improves upon Ubuntu significantly and undoes a lot of their unpopular corporatey decisions. Zorin is literally just Ubuntu with a different face.

You can have an "external" GPU if your willing to give up your NVMe storage

IP-based internet? What do you mean by that, how else are we supposed to provide unique addresses for every device on a network?

Arch\Endeavor, I more preferred the polished experience of Fedora Silverblue and Debian\Mint.

Linux, Love, Laugh

I want to know how three stars can form as a system at very different times. Shouldn't they have similar ages?

If only game developers optimized their games...

The newest hardware is getting powerful enough that devs are banking on people just buying better cards to play their games.

Half of my home town of Xenia Ohio was wiped off the map in the 1974 Super Outbreak.

Best bet is to buy a house with a basement and hope its enough.

Hoping to see Gnome make some progress on Mosaic Tiling. Also wish they'd bite the bullet already and implement a SSD fallback and go along with Hex color values and just choose named colors from there.

You're a liar, there I said it.

All honesty though, yeah its a problem but the solution is not to burn bridges and build ever higher walls. They're leaving for a reason and ignoring the problem doesnt solve it.

Its convenient how all you seem to forget your families once came from a "shit third world country", they left Europe for a reason.

I have a 2-in-1 Lenovo Yoga 6 13" that I've installed Linux on. I've given up on the fingerprint reader working. The part manufacturer doesnt make drivers for Linux nor do they provide the necessary information for someone to make one themselves.

The Windows style systray is redundant, I dont understand how you guys think you need it. Android style systray (system notifications) would be far better.

Only problem with Tiling WM's is the learning curved. Looking forward to Gnomes Mosaic TWM to bridge the gap between floating and tiling
