If you have a large steam library, the rin forum has some tools to help backup a good chunk of those games. Usually you can't run a steam game without the steam client, but steamless and goldberg can make them run without needing the client.

As long as a company can't outright buy the whole network or something like that, I don't think it could get fucked over in the same way that something like twitter or tumblr can.

Yes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Nothing really. The mobile app is mainly to browse on the phone when not in front of the computer. I guess you can browse it in a phone's browser but it's more convenient, at least for me, to use an app.

So what is considered lurking? Commenting once in a blue moon or just not commenting anything whatsoever?

considering the offers facebook were making, it wouldn't be very surprising if some instances caved. It's a good thing that anyone can make their own instance for that reason.

-Making sprite art and turning it into perler/ the plastic bead things.

-Chiptune and synthesizers

-Tabletop RPGs

-Card games

Apparently for some people they see it as a gimped version of IOS somehow. If anything IOS from what I've used before is so much more locked down now than it used to be when I had a 3G. But yeah the stigma is there with some people, but it doesn't really matter at this point. If you want to side load apps, use android because you don't have to go out of your way to get dev permissions, hook it up to the PC to install, and constantly re-approve your side-loaded apps. Seriously that shit gets annoying real fast.

If you want to check what instances are federated or unfederated, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page on desktop and click on Instances. It will show a list.

Whoops! Reddit spazzed out and couldn't send your post because it hurts spez's feelings!

At that point it's someone else's PC in a server somewhere else. Unless it's to make networks in business or school, I don't really see it being used much outside of that. Especially when you could just set up your own cloud network locally.

The best thing to do is to just jump in.Pick a distro, doesn't matter which and just start using it.

For software just browse the Music category of pamac, discover, or whatever app-front you decide to use. There's some really good stuff in there.

He looks like a skinwalker lol

aight

The Scottish are way ahead of ya. those kilts look pretty comfortable.

How many people talk about pac man world 2? That game still holds up and it's one of the few gamecube discs that is still in a great condition after all of these years.

Especially when the potato laptop stops being so potato all of a sudden. It's satisfying.

Mull, pokemmo, and youtube revanced are my go to apps.

For the most part it works really well! 90% of games on steam work without any hassle and the 10% with errors have workarounds. It's not perfect but it's definitely getting better as time goes on, especially with more anticheats having compatibility with linux than 5 years ago. When it comes to standalone games, it can be a mixed bag because sometimes it works perfectly and other times it doesn't, but launchers like lutris help get the games that don't work run decently. When it comes to emulators, they work really well, sometimes better than running them on windows, but keep in mind where you're getting them. I have less issues overall with the flatpack variants of emulators.

Rocking Endeavour OS right now. It's been working well for me so far.

How is maintaining a community compared to an instance? It would be neat to make one, but what keeps me from making one is having to moderate it or maintain it.

what's the point of copying over stuff from reddit here? If anything, why not make a separate community for that? If it's to archive it would be better to put it elsewhere dedicated to that.

Especially when there's a lot of comments repeating the same points. Like, sure you can add to it but there is only so much left to add after a certain point.

I like to go around on my rollerskates, idgaf how goofy it looks now it's fun to me.

Both. It makes it easier to keep in touch technically, but whether or not they are responsive is a whole other story.

Bet

Covered in asphalt

Who looked at the patriot act and thought that was a good idea?

Ye

I think it's got less to do with whatever is posted online and it's more about the under the hood stuff like what devices you decide to use, what networks are being used to access their services, what contacts they have, and other shit like that.

Dude, some people just prefer longer form content. To each their own.

What good is that bloated userbase if it's just dead or abandoned accounts? If anything, they are more likely to just ctrl + C > ctrl + V their users as well as their privacy policy on their client, which doesn't really help anyone. Besides, can facebook really be trusted to play by the rules?

I only ever used third party apps to go through subreddits anyway, so it makes it a hell of a lot easier to switch.

Is advanced searching any better? I wouldn't know now because searx but when I used it before it helped to keep the results focused.

I find it easier to comment on stuff if I just plop something down and send it. It's easier to just express an opinion in the moment. It helps that you can see the responses people put too, keeps it interesting.

Apparently there's a lot of bots lol

The issue is that it's more likely to be paywalled like the shit red hat/IBM is pulling with their repo code.

Right now, i'm messing around with furnacetracker. It's got almost everything in one package! The chip I usually focus on is the YM2608 chip because it's close to a genesis chip. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it though, the third FM channel when split up is still a mystery to me lol
