I think we should reclaim queer as a good catch all for everyone, though I personally like 🌈 Rainbow Mafia 🌈. I also like what CyberEgg pointed out with the term 'punk' starting off as a slur only to be owned by the group.

While I agree, China controlling the narrative on their platform isn't a great option either.

The Grand Budapest Hotel - visually beautiful, the story never slows, altime favorite

I was not ready to see Mars Attacks. What is worse is knowing it is campy and ridiculous but I still can't make myself watch it again as an adult.

Some old palaces in Japan have "nightingale" floors that purposely squeak to keep people from sneaking in. Could be a security feature outside your room

They are a total game changer if you have the floorplan for it. We are one story with no carpet so it works well.

If you like sandbox building, Space Engineers. There are so many good mods to give the game some life and nothing is more satisfying than building your own ship from materials you mined.

I am so confused, I thought grenades did more damage. Or is it that those people don't know they are dead yet?

I highly recommend Ubuntu Desktop for homelab stuff.

I recently set up my self-hosted system and went down this path:
Ubuntu Server - decided against it because terminal only is tedious sometimes
Ubuntu Desktop - easy, popular (so more documentation), comes ready with Docker
Decided to use Yacht for my container manager and have been happy with it so far, super simple compared to other options out there but you still have the control you need

current containers:

  • Home Assistant to unify all smart home gadgets
  • Nginx Proxy Manager to create secure reverse proxies so some services are available to the internet for remote use
  • Photoprism for all my photo / personal video management
  • Plex to serve my media
  • Dashy a dashboard for all your services? I still need to learn and play with this one
  • Firefly III a personal finance tool, hard to configure but seems super useful once everything is set up and imported. still learning this one too
  • Minecraft Server

I definitely want to add to this list. I want to get some stuff behind a VPN and sail the open seas to fill out my plex server, I just want to make sure I am being as safe as possible.

Mr Roboto, so we can tell him domoarigato :)

Video games: Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Pizza Opossum, PlateUp!

Physical game: Crokinole

Please check out Sports by the same band. Really captures my feelings when people start talking about sportsball Sports

I see you have a container for a Space Engineers server, would you mind telling me what you are using? I would love to have a container for it instead of running torch on the desktop.

No op, but I did the server first and then switched to desktop for the sole reason of wanting to click on some things instead of terminal only

My god, daylio is the best app I have ever purchased. I have also been using it for years. The ability to have so much data on your life can really open your eyes to trends you wouldn't notice otherwise. 308 days in row right now.

Noooo that is the worst. I got to 547 days and fucked it up. It is always around this time of year too. I am being extra vigilant with my entries this year because I want the full year of dots to print out as a poster.

Just reading through the acknowledgements and preface made me excited to read this. Thanks for the link!

That is the biggest thing imo, it needs a better single/multi player experience that drives you to expand and gives you some kind of story. Imagine having to start out one of the planets with that Scavenger mod only to be able to tech up and go farther. It is a game that is begging for a reason to play other than imagination.

The black and white one with the billy nayer show?
