I can’t stress how important this is: babysitting does not, in fact, involve sitting on baby.

Ask them for their social security number, mother’s maiden name, favorite pet, favorite teacher, high school mascot. It should start to dawn on them

Cost per thousand. They don’t define it, because it’s a common metric in advertising.

They probably just need a drink. Offer them a Molotov Cocktail.

A lot fewer people could move to Wyoming and give the Dems 2 more senators.

Yeah, that’s not a danish, that’s an entire cake. It’s 14 ounces.

Kanopy. You log in with your library card number, and you get 4 free movies and other media each month.

She not even a boomer, she’s Silent Generation

For real. Once I retire in a decade or so, I’ll try to live off social security for as log as possible, but once I need to dip into my savings, I’m just tapping my kid’s inheritance. At that point, death is the only financially rational option.

During the 2022 cycle I made the mistake of donating to a lefty cause, and this year I was getting up to twenty (20) grifting emails a day. Just a few well-crafted email filters later, it’s down to zero. For texts, as soon as one comes in it’s “block and report as junk”. I’ll keep this up until I have every fucking number in the US listed as junk I don’t care.

That would be my reaction too. Who says “unsubscribe to” instead of “unsubscribe from”?

While the story is true, it’s not the origin of the terms “bug” and “debugging.” Those terms were already in use in Edison’s time.

I don’t think the step- relations are to hide incest. I think it’s a lazy way to create situations where two people are alone together. Otherwise you’d have to go to tired tropes like pizza delivery, or visiting plumber, etc.

There are no buses where I live. The nearest light rail stop is 12 miles away. Several times I’ve made plans to go to a party at someone’s house, which would take half an hour by car, or one and a half to two hours using public transport.

When I do take public transport, sometimes it’s standing room only, too many people put their filthy shoes on the seat, people cough and sneeze and specially during the pandemic didn’t mask up.

“Aside from people who [benefit from self-checkout], it's hard to see who benefits from self-checkout.

Around 2004-5 I regularly stayed at a large chain hotel near Tucson airport (something like Doubletree, but I’m not sure if it was that one). They charged a daily fee for the phone in your room. Not for using it, mind you, just for the phone being there. And no, they did not have rooms without phones.

How about… an undisclosed character limit? We’ll just keep telling you your password is invalid until you figure out the max length.

“Documentation”

Spoken like someone who never came close to SAP

Someone might be going in for an annual checkup, so you can’t just assume that something is wrong.

Sounds kinda racist, honestly

Nah, his gentlemans sausage has the diameter of dental floss.

Way back around 2010 or so, when Siri was still new, it was really bad and I found myself regularly cussing her out. I thought that might be bad to always associate these things with a woman, so I switched it to a male voice, intending to toggle back and forth every so often. I’ve yet to switch back.

I’m at 17, no lie.

I’m kinda meh on what style his grandma has

I just want to add that OP goes straight from Boomers to Millenials, ignoring Gen X as usual.
