Honestly, I'm really trying to like Lemmy. I feel like none of the good communities came over here, just the one's you mindlessly scroll through. I just looked for a fitness community yesterday and the one i found had like 5 posts. There is basically no communities for any of my hobbies. It seems like most people stayed on Reddit, except for the techy people. It's a shame because I really want to support the idea of federation and I do like the website.

I used to stare at the sun when I was a kid. Now I have visual snow syndrome. Don't know if it's related, but sunlight for long periods of time definitely aggrevates it.

If you go to the next page, it stops doing that. Also doesn't do it on the Jerboa app.

It seems like a win but tech-literate is not equal to smart. Let's say we want advice about cars. Now all the older mechanics who are very smart and technical with cars but not as much with computers won't bring their expertise here. I really want Lemmy to take off. I think it is a good replacement for the scrolling and time-wasting that Reddit provides but I'm worried it will never be a useful resource the same way Reddit is. I think a lot would need to change for that to happen.

I only see the Altima thing on the internet. IME it's just a generic shitty car like a Ford and seems to drive just like anyone else on the road. I feel like any car that costs a lot of money, including pick up trucks are the ones with assholes

You convinced me, I will try it one day when I have $30 to use. (Probably be a while lol) My method works well, but it takes a while. I'd rather use a bidet if it saves time.

Just started using dating apps as a cis person. This happens to me too.

I think we don't for now. I think we just have to accept we might have to change instances once in a while, especially while things settle.

I agree, I don't feel right if I don't use wipes now.

I think that's just the internet. I think some people just go through their feed downvoting everything.

Honestly, I think most food can be found pretty cheap, except for proteins. The best bet I think is chicken drumsticks, but even those will add up. Beans are a cheap protein, but it's about just as carby as it is proteiny.

Lol at least I made progress. I was taught to just use toilet paper when I was a kid. Now if I have to do that, I feel so dirty

I agree with you. I was using my Honor 6X and while it was very outdated, I was pretty happy with it. One day it just bricked for no reason. I've also had bad experience with Motorola, despite all the praise I've read online.

Did he actually say that? What is it with all of these rich people and being brain dead. I make dumb decisions too, where's my money?

I have a Oneplus Nord N100 that I got from Amazon for $150 about a year ago. It's actually not bad. Only problem is the charging port is super loose. I'm pretty happy with it.

I like to use toilet paper to get the bulk of it, then use wet wipes after.

I agree, they don't deserve to be one of the popular instances. They gathered a large userbase and just isolated it. If they wanted to be some special safe space, they should've specified that in the beginning instead of overcomplicating everything the way they did. People keep saying it's their choice, and it is, but in the same way it's Reddit's choice to kill off 3rd party apps.

So is it not really like a Zelda game at all? I've never played it but I read recently that there are no dungeons.

But one thing to consider is how divided it would be. Let's say I wanted to browse martial arts so I go to #martialarts. Now what about people adding stuff like #MMA or #karate. None of these would show up in #martialarts. Seems like hashtags would be even more divided than communities to me

So does that mean that any thread in the fediverse can be shared together? Or is kbin another Lemmy instance? I thought we could only look at other Lemmy instances.

So we can interact with any software in the fediverse?
