20, male Dutch chap who spends too much time with British people and the internet xD

Honestly, both sides of the coin have merits. A quiet place where people recognise each other is perfect for making friends, but bigger communities collect more information and participation. It'll be significantly less personal, but it has its upsides.

Lemmy does deel a lot better than Reddit though, I have to agree :D

Really? Graphics are the big issue? Then why was redfall's basic gameplay loop worse than Skyrim's (a game that hasn't received a mayor update in 10-15 years)?

Like, I understand expectations can be batshit crazy, and often quite bad. You've got a point there. Graphics are only a minor part of what makes a good game, a good game though.

P.s. People nowadays tend to say that a game is incredibly buggy, or boring. Haven't heard complaints about looks in a long, long time. Only heard complaints that the game is shite, or just simply doesn't even work.

I still had my Reddit account just for posteroties sake. I don't anymore now. I refuse to accept changes or rules that allow for them to steal all my data. I've not gotten to this point with Google or Microsoft yet, but they're not far off the chopping block.

The statement here is "all standard phones should have radio". Is yours standard? And if you would be oh so gracious could you also give me the brand and phone type so that I might look it up myself?

I tried reading them. I can't because the fucking website doesn't scale to my phone. It realises something should change, but it's so shitty I can immediately see the edges and see text, images and flair cross over where it shouldn't. Ffs.

It's why I'm moving on fully now as well. The official app is the worst garbage pile app I've seen in a while. Only apps woede are the low-efdort moneygrabs. That and loosing boost is why I'll probably not be seen on Reddit for a WHILE.

For those who are completely clueless, this is meant as satire

That's intended. Even to premium subs youtube pushes adds which try and promote engagement. Its fucking awful.

Does get me out of the loop sometimes though, so I guess Im thankful for that.

I don't even own a soldering kit, and don't trust myself enough with it (yet). Not everyone can do everything.

I just... Got a small break from bday prep and read this. WTF xD?

Reddit has gone down-hill significantly. Over the last week most people have been gone while I was hesitant to leave reddit, and I've seen maybe one or two higher quality post. It's gone to absolute shit.

Best part is, reddits solution? Ban moderators and close the subreddit.

I tried to look it up, and my German isn't good enough. Would you be so kind to help?

And this kindness and willingness to help is why I've already fallen in love with Lemmy. Thank you good sir, thank you dearly for helping the next generation of internet denisens :D

I'm more aiming at the fact that protesting, the thing unions do to make changes happen, is illegal in a couple of states. Just straight up.

Aside from that I do live in Europe, so I'm a little uninformed of current laws against protesting

That already exists. ATM, the thing you're confusing it with is that there are 4-5 "gaming" subs, but eventually if one gets big enough or the others get taken in by one this will happen, and it'll look like this instance "Technology@Beehaw.org" (p.s. I'm accessing this from Sopuli, so not on Beehaw).

Yes they do, and it's amazing to "tune the radio. Those wires are soo finicky you can hear high school physics!!! Not sarcastic btw. I really do enjoy those damned finicky cables xD

It's like you said, the best option out of a bunch of flawed ones. We've not found the "perfect" governing system yet, but here in the Netherlands things are quite good. We're slow to change, but when we do it often has quite good, long lasting impacts. In my personal opinion our system is better than most.

Technically sure. But what can unions do? What actual power do they have that they matter?

Main reason why I'm gonna try and stick it out with Lemmy.

Hard to corporate greed a decentralised system :D

Even if the claim is fake, I'd prefere to live in blissful ignorance :D

I'd recommend you read up on the multitude of distractions people have had when talking outside.

During normal conversation people rarely looked eachother in the eyes.

Joining new communities like this is an amazing excuse to contribute more! I am/was in the same boat as you, but for a new thing to skyrocket it needs interaction, and that's what we can do!

xD

Then why did the religious schidm happen that created the Protestant faith?

The reason you want a 100 communities over one is what is happening over on Reddit. Make one big thing, and greed will take over. Make many smaller ones? Is significantly less likely to happen.

That... That sounds like peak internet humour, and can (when handled in good faith) lead to the best kind of situations!

Thanks for the explanation!

You can, you just must log in to the server/website in which you made the account, then browse over to the server you wish to contribute to or use.

It's a bit weird, I know. If you've got any questions I'll try my best to answer them :D

To add, I personally have had all of the complaints of digital keyboards happen to physical ones. Just not the removal of the numpad. The others, wordt of which is lag, Ive had plenty. Input lag IS THE WORST.

TF is crate ent. on about? They've not even made an RTS, let alone one with love and care out into it? They've got an RPG* (grim dawn) and a city builder (farthest frontier) on steam. Neither come anywhere close to what an RTS is supposed to be, and like others have said, Dune (don't know the specific name), C&C, warcraft and StarCraft we're all impressive mainstream games, all RTS.

Haven't read the post, but what if kind of detached world do they live in?

Thank you very much for this meme. Gonna try and bury that one deep into my memory so I never forget :D

Didn't know the fenomenon had gotten an actual name! Thanks for sharing it with me!

That still doesn't excuse shitty gameplay, or like I said, an awfull basic gameplay loop. Gameplay loops don't have to be difficult. Take minecraft as an example. The basic gameplay loop there is simple. Mine, craft, repeat. That, in its most basic form, is it. But if you look at redfall as an example, it's using a tried and true method. Shoot, loot, upgrade, repeat. They don't do anything else with it though.

Minecraft adds enchantments, building, cool alternate equipment.

Redfall (to my knowledge) adds nothing. And it doesn't even have top-notch graphics. iirc Horizon: Zero Dawn looked prettier. So does Minecraft, but Minecraft is a complicated comparison that I won't go into here.

Significantly xD
