Here's the most interesting take I've found on this question.

How they implemented it it is you can't get a strong item if you pick-up the item box while being stopped (like as it respawns with no forward speed), by going in reverse or picking up the same one multiple times.

It "seemed" superior but it was super lagging in total recording time

This lobster is stellar, not lunar. How do you even tolerate that?

From my understanding, Lemmy is software, while ActivityPub is the underlying protocol. Mastodon, Pixelfed and Kbin are other softwares running with the ActivityPub protocol.

Jerboa has the setting you request under Settings > [username] Settings > Hide Read Posts

That must mean ActivityPub tracks read status and provides it. Just look deeper in the settings.

Sorry, I don't know about Liftoff.

If I can piggyback with a question: Does anyone know how "Read" status for posts is stored and accessible on both softwares? I know that it's stored and it would be cool if it was private, but I'm guessing it can be collected and used.

My favorite tie knot is the Pratt-Shelby. The only thing not to like about it is the fact that the tie needs to be reversed when tying it.

Thank you so much for the detailed answer

Afaik, you actually can't, at least for now. You can follow everything from Kbin though.

Thanks everyone. I still haven't decided, but at least I know a little better how various designs work and possibly how to get a good one on the cheap. How it helps other people too.

I use other search engines such as duckduckgo which are better for privacy and less aimed at steering you to the websites that are using the search engine's ad services. They do have a deal with Bing, so I might be wrong.

I don't think people are gonna adopt Lemmy because they stumbled on it from Google searches.
