I think FreeCAD is still the best bet, it does.seem to be making a few strides recently. Topo naming and sketcher workbench are both getting updates. For me personally it's definitely usable for personal projects. I want better FreeCAD rather than an alternative new thing.

Best part was the actual change, there was a bug where a number that should've been divided by 100 was being multiplied by 100, the dev somehow managed to implement the fix in such a way that the number was multiplied by a further 100.

Even with normal shares 30% is a minority stake especially if a single entity owns the other 70% (ie. You can express your opinion but I outvote you every time). Unless Larian are planning to raise additional funds by selling equity and need the stock price to remain high for that reason, Tencent are free to sell their portion without any impact to Larian. (Heck a drop might even let Larian buy itself back)

VLC should sort you for video. It's been said before, but word docs may trip you up. Try libreoffice, if that's not working for you and you want to stick with Linux you've got a few options:
Office 365 online - might be controversial, but IMO if that's the only thing keeping you back at least it's not windows and office
Google docs - another viable option
Windows VM running under Linux just for office.
