Reddit ruined it. Reddit just isn't reddit without RIF. I don't even wanna see what's going on there anymore. From what I've heard it's going downhill anyways.

Back in 2010 my best friend at the time sent me an entire pirated copy of need for speed most wanted in a zip file through Skype. It took the entire day for it to send and then it took my weak ass computer until I woke up the next morning to unzip the folder the game was on. I remember waking up and being overjoyed that it was at 97% completion. I only had to wait another few minutes for it to finish.

I still have that exe to this day. It's basically impossible to play the game otherwise. I actually store the exe on my phone since it has so much storage and it's easy to move it over thanks to USB 3.0 and higher. I do that with a lot of games actually.

I mean this post has 1200 upvotes. Considering most people don't engage with the voting system that makes me think that there's a decent amount of people here. At the very least it means there's a lot of people here who engage with the community. More come every day. If this post were on Reddit, it would be on r/all right now. That's not bad for a community with a fraction of the users.

I think that in 10 years this place will be doing alright. I think the growth that's happened in the last few months won't last, but I think that growth will still steadily happen. The reddexodus doesn't happen every day but with most social media platforms shitting their geriatric pants more and more lately, I think a consistent flow of refugees will come here.

Because of how they're packaged, there is no left and right twix. Left and right are relative terms. My left could be your right and someone else's up or down. Before you open a package of twix each twix bar is in a superposition of left and right. They only gain cardinality when you tear open the packaging. Both sides of the packaging are designed to easily open so there is no objective top or bottom to the packaging.

Anon is crazy because he thinks that he can guess which twix is which as if being a left or right twix were an objective term. Sort of like if someone handed you two completely identical copies of a photograph and a marker and told you to highlight the differences, and then you found some differences.

There's no way a grizzly bear could beat a rhino. The largest grizzly bear isn't even a quarter of the weight of your average rhino. It would be as fair of a fight as you vs a grizzly bear.

I think reddit gentrifying is a great way to putting it. Even if the 3PAs weren't killed, reddit had a lot of issues. I was getting really sick of the 300k karma farma bots regurgitating content all the time. I much prefer to see regular people regurgitating content on a smaller scale with no competitive ranking. Karma was cool when it wasn't farmed like plasma on a stallion ranch.

Kind of. An LCD display has one backlight which illuminates the entire screen with one brightness. So a black screen and a white screen will use the same amount of electricity if both screens are set to the same brightness, even though to us a white screen looks brighter. Using a dark theme won't save any electricity, but it won't use any more either.

Other display types use self illuminating pixels. Like OLEDs and plasma screens. So a screen which is mostly black uses a lot less electricity than a screen which is mostly any other color but black. Using a dark theme would use substantially less electricity.

Even a CRT would use less electricity if you switch to dark theme while still using one, because the cathode ray wouldn't have to light up the black pixels.

What I really want to know is what you guys use for getting torrents for entire seasons of shows, or even the entire show at once. I'm not new to piracy, I'm just new to talking about it with people.

The last time I tried to use a disk to install a nfs game was on a windows 8 laptop and it didn't want to launch unless I did compatibility for XP and it didn't end up installing the game anyways.

I mean it's basically impossible to play the game otherwise because EA refuses to sell the black box need for speed games, and the only other way to legally obtain them is to buy a 20 year old dvd which didn't sell very well to begin with. Even if I did that, I wouldn't be able to install it because I haven't had a PC or laptop with a disk drive in almost 8 years.

Since EA doesn't want my money, I won't feel bad about not giving it to them. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Hot Pursuit 2, Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, are all abandonware. Too much copyrighted music and car licences for EA to even consider touching it so feel free to pirate the games.

That's a ripoff. I imagine that theater is a lot nicer than the one nearest to me but tickets are usually $12 for an adult and $6 for a child. But on Wednesdays all tickets are $6 regardless of age. They call it date night but you don't have to bring a date. You can even come alone. Or so I've been told ಥ_ಥ

The popcorn isn't even all that expensive either, but the drinks are. I think mostly because drinks are the easiest to sneak in.

I use a series x controller for basically every game I've played on every platform, since 2021.

For a while I used a razer kishi on my phone but it wore out after about a year. Now it only works for a few minutes before disconnecting, then it won't work again unless I unplug it for a few hours.

Look into smarttubenext for Chromecast then. It takes like 30 seconds to install. It's similar to new pipe. I believe it can even link with new pipe to download videos for offline use.

It's the entire reason I bought a Chromecast over a Roku or fire TV.

I guess I'm chaotic neutral. I've never had enough money to buy two of the same monitor. All of my stuff is stuff I got either for free from school or for extremely cheap.

Every thinkpad released in the last 5 years has had screens with 100% adobe rgb color accuracy. They're almost all at least brighter than 300 nits. Some brighter than 400. They're objectively incredible screens. 1366x768 hasn't been the standard in a long time. 1440p has been an option for a long time too. As far back as the t460 or the first gen x1 carbon like 10 years ago. The last ThinkPad I can see where 1366x768 was even an option was the t490 in 2017. After that they moved onto 16:10 screens and made 1920x1200 the minimum. Hell even 1800p OLED screens have been available in some models for 7 years. The t570 and p50 both have 4k screens and they've been available for about 7 years as well.

I hope so, but only if the option to install other OS's remains an easy option. I love android but installing a different operating system on my phone is so much of a pain in the dick that it's not even worth it.

I feel like I'd probably avoid a handheld if the option to install windows wasn't there, even if I don't end up using it much.

If my choice was a default windows install with the option to install steamOS myself, or a default steamOS install with no other options, I'm choosing the windows install every time.

The only packaging that I can see that indicates which side is the top are the ones which advertise themselves as being all left or all right twix. Regular twix wrappers don't even have "tear here" printed on them.

Yeah that's true. I'm glad that a big portion of all phones being released right now have oled screens, but it makes me miss the high quality ips LCD displays we used to get. Now you have the choice of a really sub par LCD, or an OLED/Super AMOLED display. I looked at the screen on my 2013 Nexus 7 and my Nvidia Shield K1 the other day and they hold up so so so well. It's a shame I can't just upgrade the internals. I'd kill for a Shield X1 or whatever chip will be going into the next switch.
