Replaceable batteries are coming to the EU in general, at least for portable devices, via the EU Batteries Regulation, which is in force already and requires all portable batteries to be easily removable and replaceable by the end user from 2027

Why does every news article nowadays repeat itself at least 2 times? There are almost the exact same sentences twice. You don't even have to read past the abstract because there is no other information at all in the actual text. And besides, you avoid having to scroll past 7 gigantic ads

That's a basic rule that can be applied to lots of things: If a company offers a lot of different products or one product that can do everything, usually none of those are really good. Typical example would be a restaurant that serves everything from pizza/pasta, asian cuisine/sushi to steak, burgers and so on

Sure, your young dog, who is still being trained, does something bad because of whatever reason, and instead of trying to find out why that happened and what could be done to prevent it in the future, the first solution you come up with is to kill the dog?? That's not being able to act on tough decisions, that's poor judgement, lack of empathy, signs of psychopathy and just being a bad person

And will this have any impact on his campaign or his voter support? Of course not...

Very nice, let's try to keep this place as clean as possible

Nothing matters anymore, it's ridiculous

How could a government allow people to kill someone. No matter how you feel about migration and trespassing and all that. That is just insane

Same in Germany. Conservatives copy the right-wings' and extremists' topics and positions and feed the xenophobic narrative that turns the poor against the poorest. And then they are surprised when the fascists get more and more votes

Ah yes, ridiculously photogenic guy. Those were simpler times

It's because the uncanny valley of his real life appearance is just so offsetting. This one just looks like a normal digitally distorted face so you associate it with something more natural

This shows that he not only is willing to risk his employees safety for the sake of a "greater good" or at least a profitable business. But the fact that he not only ignores safety practices but actively removes those that are already in place just because they don't please him aesthetically and he doesn't want to see them is a whole other level of egoism and carelessness. He really doesn't give a damn about other people

He's got a point

Okay, so does anyone wanna talk about the math thingy in the post?

Yea the article does seem to make it a bigger thing than it actually is. But, the fact that the management or at least the CEO (that also has a major saying in everyday business and is highly respected/feared) openly shows a disrespect for safety measures and laughs them off as annoying, definitely paints a picture. Sure, accidents happen and maybe the numbers aren't excessively high, but if management doesn't take them seriously and learn from them and take measures to reduce the risk, then this becomes really concerning

The water creates a better way to transfer heat from the container to the freezer because it has direct contact with the container and replaces the air around it. Yes the water needs to be cooled too, but still the process is way faster because air really is a good insulator for heat. This is why insulating materials for houses e.g. always try to maximize air content (foam, glass wool, styrofoam)

Yes slow charging is one factor to prolong battery life. You can even go down to 5w or less. But another important factor is not having your phone charged at 100% for long durations, because at high voltage the battery degrades faster. So don't leave your phone plugged in when it's fully charged, try to keep it between 30 and 80% all the time for maximum lifetime

I'm a dad and I just wanted to sleep. Thanks...

This is actually a defined and very common term in the industry when talking about management of development processes for safety critical systems

I bet he is. He probably has found some ways to get around this monitoring system. This is just so damn stupid, how can you be so naive to think this would work?

But even then, there are other options to consider first before killing, even more deciding it on your own

Replaceable batteries are coming back in the EU though due to the battery regulation (EU) 2023/1542 which requires portable batteries to be removable and replaceable

No it has been for years. People involved in development of safety systems use this term all the time

Correct. Convection would just annihilate your insulating effect

Okay, thank you for clarifying

Well, you could just leave then.

This is amazing

The article says there never was a missing person's report filed for her, so maybe she was never "officially" missing

Why is it even so damn important for him to get rid of bots that he has to take these extreme measures and make the X experience for everyone so bad? Or maybe it's just always the same excuse to justify his stupid decisions

The wounded guy? Sure thing. But the other one didn't seem to be too injured to be taken to a hospital for treatment

Wait, wasn't this due to incomplete/inadequate maintenance, where they forgot to reinstall some parts of the door support? Is this really Boeing's fault or is the maintenance done by the airline or a third party service contractor?
