The jump in posts over the last month is incredible. I find Lemmy quickly replacing Reddit which is great.

Good point! I’m hoping for some of the more niche communities to start becoming more active. Things are trending in the right direction though.

For me I think it’s the niche communities aren’t built up yet. If I’m looking for a conversation about a specific football team or game, etc there isn’t as much content here that I can find on Reddit.

Lemmy is my new Reddit addiction. With Lemmy becoming more vibrant I’m missing Reddit less and less, though Lemmy still has a ways to go.

I have those four as well! I’m bouncing between Mlem and Memmy, both of which are impressive, especially given that they’re still under heavy development. I need to spend more time using liftoff and thunder.

I quit Reddit cold turkey. I miss sports talk and some of the gaming and workout subreddits though.

Come to the Chicagoland. Not only can you buy alcohol on Sundays but you can buy it pretty much wherever you want (gas stations, Walgreens, CVS, etc.).

Middle left. Don’t know the numbering scheme, 3?

The Memmy dev has been crushing it with one update a day while balancing bug fixes & quality of life updates. I have no idea when that dev sleeps or takes a break.

Mlem seems to be taking the approach of doing less frequent updates with more content. The last Mlem release had some good updates in there, so I’m glad to see the swap in lead dev didn’t distract them too much.

Bonded leather is less than 20% real leather and made from scraps and fibers of genuine leather combined with binders. It’s generally not as durable as genuine leather.

I’ve used Ubuntu, arch, fedora and PopOs and each one supported three monitors out of the box. Weird you have had issues.

Great info! You should post this in the LaTeX community (latex@lemmy.ca seems to be one of the more popular ones).

Same here. I lost my ~12 year old account. Been on Lemmy since. I find myself doomscrolling less which is nice.

Don’t scare me like that.

Drink wise, Dom Pérignon. It was not worth $300 or $400 I paid for a bottle. It was good, just not that good.

Food wise, probably a $90 steak at Chicago Cut. Worth every penny.

But can you use it? I’ve worked places with things like that, gaming rooms for breaks, etc. and it was mostly just for sore and never used.

Just switched to Fedora after bouncing between Ubuntu and Manjaro. Really digging Fedora and kicking myself for waiting so long to try it out.

That shit is magic. I always have some in the house.

Same. The White Sox community right now is just a bot posting game results.

Same. I use my gmail accounts for junk mail and have been moving everything actually relevant to proton through SimpleLogin aliases.

Protonmail and SimpleLogin have been amazing. I have a Gmail account but rarely use it for anything but throw away accounts.

Completely agree. I like the idea of Flatpaks and use them when I can but I’ve ran into issues that existed only in the Flatpak version of a program. Installing the traditional package resolved all issues.

Nah gotta mark it as cannot duplicate then close. Gotta rack up those sweet story points.

Ha true. I find it nice though. Then I can walk the lots on Sunday’s casually car shopping without being pestered by a salesman.

On my laptop I have Windows 11 installed since that’s what it came with. I’m sure I’ll migrate it to Linux eventually but it’s new.

On my desktop I mostly bounce between Ubuntu and Arch though just installed Pop OS today to see what the craze is all about.

I’d narrow it down to the fruits and veg. But if I had to pick one it would be fruit. At least I could stave off scurvy.

Memmy and Mlem are pretty good. Both in TestFlight, but I believe both are submitted to the App Store and under review.

Welcome to the fediverse!

Doing the same but with Fedora on my old desktop. I’ve been messing around with Linux for some time now but this is the first time I’ve tried to put a serious attempt into setting up a development environment and move to Linux for gaming.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get the games working. Now if I can just figure out how to get vortex or MO2 to work to mod Bethesda games I’ll be happy.

I’m giving T-Mobile a try soon since it’s $50/mo vs the $200/mo I pay for Comcast internet and cable (don’t use cable but it was cheaper as a internet & cable bundle for awhile). If I get similar speeds to what you got with T-Mobile I’ll be happy.

Thanks! I’ll keep an eye in it, the more Lemmy apps the better right now. Needing to side load onto iPhone through AltStore is an interesting choice. I wonder how that will impact user adoption.

I’m excited for TESVI but sad we likely won’t see FO5 until the 2030s.

Starfield. I don’t typically have a lot of time to game but Bethesda games (ES and Fallout) are among my favorite. After watching starfield direct, I’m hyped.

I usually eat lunch in about 10-15 minutes during a meeting so I don’t have a choice to slow down and get sleepy. That kicks in later on the drive home.
