I agree. It's also a tremendous waste of resources. I'm all for redundancy (like CDNs), but this seems incredibly poorly thought out. If Lemmy (as a whole) every scales to the size of other social media, the space requirements will start to become unreasonable.

Why wouldn't something like symlinks be implemented? Not saying specifically use symlinks, but there has to be a similar, better way.

For those having issues getting the email form to:

    1. Show up at all
    1. Submit once/if it is showing up

iFor me, AdGuard was blocking the form from showing up at all. Then, in Firefox, dev tools showed that the tracker tool was stopping the form from submitting. Once I disabled both things for the site, I was (hopefully) able to get it submitted. I got the "Thanks for signing up" notification on the site, anyway. I'm not sure if I was supposed to receive a confirmation email, so I'm just hopeful it worked.
