Wow, I haven't heard that in long time.

My neighbors listen to great music. Whether they like it or not.

They are very much in sync. Even though each game and story is independent, characters have history and the games are part of that.

I'm an old fart that grew up on these games too. They were what I lived for. Kings Quest 1 blew me away. Then 2 had me hooked. 3 was another level and felt so big.

I collected their catalogs and dreamed f what would come next. There was a box art for KQ4 they showed in the catalog that didn't make it to the actual box. It was amazing and I wished I had that.

I also played Space, Police, and Heros Quest, but Kings Quest was my jam.

The problem with YouTube is there isn't an alternative.

Anytime I think it's morphed to a state where people will leave for the next great thing, they don't.

The content is there, and alternatives don't have that backing them so it's too inconvenient to move on. Once people have that pain point, they go back.

If the best description of something can only be broken down to "reddit liked it" then either the person doesn't know how to describe anything, or that's an accurate description in itself.

I watched the first episode and found it not interesting. Certain things were good and others bad, but I just didn't care and was waiting for it to end.

Apparently I'm in the minority as fans seem to flock to defend it. To each their own.

I think there's an assumption in the illustrations.

The merge point can be singular, but not at the very last moment. If the giant flashing light sign that is visible long before the cutoff was considered the merge point, all of the benefits of the premise still hold.

In addition, in the real world the unused lane space is a buffer zone to help the merge to happen without completely stopping, reducing overall traffic.

Where both concepts fall apart is with the "me first" people that use the space to get ahead and cut in, forcing everybody to hit brakes and creates more traffic as nobody is moving, prompting more "me first" to not want to wait and cut in at the end.

I have Discord and use it occasionally because it's so widespread, even some businesses are using it.

That's reluctant though. I'm not a fan of Discord overall, even before you get into privacy type discussions.

I've never used Matrix, but I've heard it mentioned. I took the initiative to just sign up, but I'm sure it's going to be a dormant account for me as most people I talk to are very happy with the typical communications platforms like SMS and WhatsApp.

Communications platforms are only as good as their adoption rates. I can't even get people to use Signal with me.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. There's no rule that says first episodes have to be slow. But more to my point, slow also doesn't mean it has to be boring. Most of it was.

This is my understanding as well. History of the platform skews it left.

But I also don't think in terms of left and right (though its hard to get away from the terms so widely used). For instance, most people tend to describe the difference in terms of money and profit (capitalism). I look at control and freedom. I don't want governments controlling what we see, hear, and say. I want us all to control our own lives. Lemmy/Fedi is completely supportive of that concept.

As an aside, are there any Lemmy communities for Elliott?

Ninja Turtles Shredders Revenge is up to 6 players. Technically it's tons of violence, but it's cartoony. You can do online or couch coop too.

That's fair. I just figured when they introduced the characters and world building and I didn't find most of it interesting, then the following would be similar.

I'm delighted they kept the feel and aesthetic of the games. I thought they might change it and just be Fallout in name.

That being said, I thought the majority of the show was boring, slow, directed poorly, and I just didn't buy most of the characters and therefore didn't feel anything for them.
