Yes it is. Look at the eyes on the ducks. Also the guy's hands and nose. Dead giveaways.

That is sad to hear. I live in an area where almost no one wore masks. Even at the hight of the pandemic. Our local pharmacies got a bunch of N95s for free to give away free. There was supposed to be a limit but since no one was using them they would give me a lot of extra. I'm guessing they still have boxes stacked up somewhere.

Its also sad that this could have probably been prevented by using a wet saw with water hooked up. Anyone who has cut stone once without a wet saw walks away knowing they shouldn't have been breathing that.

Humans taking a plea for help as an attack.

Partly joking, partly serious :)

I'm 40 and our teacher explained why cursive was a thing in elementary school. I figured we were learning it so we could sign our name.

Take computers out of the picture. How long have we been using ballpoint pens? Cursive was obsolete even before computers took over how we write.

For online and offline GPS I love OSMAnd+ since it has AndroidAuto support and tons of other features.

Jokes on them. I was already listening to baby shark on loop.

And he will do that for you at the low price of only $1. Better do it now before the price goes up.

PipePanic is pretty addicting.

I did not see a video in the article. Here is a video of the lights on msn. I can't figure out how to get an English page on there. Sorry.

I dropped it for the Fediverse. I decided to use kbin after trying Lemmy for a bit.

That is long, lets acronymize it: TWFKAT, pronounced twif-cat.

With Lineage OS, you probably can. It also seems to becoming more logical for common users to wipe and reinstall occasionally. Not that it is easy to do. It just seems like a lot of malware is hitting phones and that is likely to get worse.

You won't need that for Shelter. It hasn't been updated in years.

Can someone drop a beat for this guy?

About time. That seems like an eternity compared to Apple products.

I started out with Apole products and left long ago. So maybe that changed.

Gitchi miigwech sa! Nizhigajibii'.

This is not new or specific to online retailers. I worked in retail for almost a decade before gettinng out.

On most products that don't have strict pricing guidelines from the manufacturer, prices can very wildly. Normal pricing would be a marked down price. When big sale would come, the tag price would go from the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) up to Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Those prices are set by the manufacturer. The price printed on tags is MSRP. It is full price and is usually marked up quite a lot. With high end brands, MSRP is usually a lot higher than what MAP is. With brands like The Northface it can be $100 or more.

When a retailer runs a "big sale" they often put everything back up to full MSRP then mark it back down whatever percentage off they are offering.

Sometimes I would wait for a product to go on sale so I could get my employee discount plus sale price. There were many times when a huge sale plus my discount ended up being the same price or more than what the every day price was.

What a great way to put it. Years ago my wife was annoyed when I started blocking ads because it was effecting streaming on some apps. Now if an ad gets through look out!

When we see ads, it is so annoying. Page loads are clunky and games blast you with ads.

What is with all these beans posts? /s

Ubuntu is Debian based... I think you can still call it that. So if you don't like Ubuntu, try Debian. Its more stable/reliable.

tbh, if they ate enough, you could probably eat that poop!

These social media giants seem to be self destructing themselves on purpose.

@bionicspud, I've been thinking of doing the same thing for the same reasons. How much storage does your instance use? I haven't looked in to how asset caching works yet. It seems like it could easily get out of hand.

I turned mine from 120hz (default) to 60hz to save battery. Probably the only reason I noticed is because I knew it was 120hz. The battery hit wasn't worth the subtle difference.

It is called OSMAnd~ on F-Droid. It does not have support for AndroidAuto. I ended up buying the licensed version for that and to support the devs.

Is anyone going to do anything?

I hear there are plans to start changing in 15-20 years. Nothing to worry about.

Glad its still working. I've been using Island for a while now. Maybe it is because I used Shelter for a long time but I like it better. I'm going to switch back if its still working :--)

Where I live, there were mandates but no one enforced it and no one cared. During the worst of the pandemic it was odd to see someone with a mask. Some stores would have a sign saying you would not be allowed in unless you had a mask. Then you get in and no one had a mask on, not even employees.

I wonder what it was like in Huntington Beach.

The only iPhone to be dropped and not get a cracked screen fell out of an airplane!

Give it time. You get used to it. Eventually, you will probably type more accurately than you did before. A qwerty or any full keyboard like that does not belong on a small screen. :-)

Jar Jar Binks was not a bad "person" in Star Wars but was a hated character. He was one of the nicest good guys.

The actor who played Jar Jar Binks, Ahmed Best, said that the widespread criticism of his character had led to him considering suicide.

I remember being blown away by no disc skipping and you can store about 3-5 CDs on it! Then I'd have to choose a few albumbs I wanted to listen to and then delete the disk and copy the song I wanted.

The downloads list suddenly won't load anymore. I was going to get the last version before they added the notice to get pro.

Who couldn't love that snappy little face?

You mean, like meow meow beans?

Well that didn't take long. They seized it. I just saw this post about it.

A great example of good motive failing.

More reputation should have meant more privilege. Yet it is too hard to get reputation.

Meow meow beans, anyone?

When I saw "otter attack" the first thing that came to mind is they must have been harrasing them or too close to babies. Something stupid, whatever it was.

That could have been the prob before. Well I'm back on with all my subscriptions. YouTube is bearable!
