Protest should intend on being an inconvenience, though arrest should be avoided if at all possible. It absolutely kills longevity and leads to people making arrest a core intention while rambling about non-violence. Really what you want is to have strategy and numbers that spook cops enough to not bother because they won't if they think its going to be too much trouble for them.

De-arrow is a godsend for these thumbnails.

That being said, I set a "Don't recommend channel" on Brodie Robertson because he took part in harassing a developer about some barely nsfw furry art being hidden in some software but refuses to block Nazis from his mastodon profile. It seemed like a double standard that demonstrated tolerance for said Nazis.

It is worth noting that marketing companies have picked up on this and they will often create oddly specific questions on Reddit then answer them with a bought account.

It does sadly enable algorithms to promote such ideologies and push people down the alt right pipeline

Like I found Reddit's far right problem annoying, I find the tankies and the libs on Lemmy to be frustrating, especially on meme pages for whatever reason. This instance does a good job at keeping the transphobes off but my personal preference would be to stop seeing crap posts defending the state, whatever it calls itself.

There are still a few instances about such as https://mw.lonelil.ru/

Its trickier to piece together what happened now but if you search "thorium browser furry", you'll probably find a few posts about it. There was a hell of a lot of misinfo including about it being CP for some reason when iirc it was just an anthropomorphic dog with the camera facing upwards towards them wearing panties or something like that.

I had a job like that and powershell was a godsend. I let it slip when I accidentally set the multiplier for the delay randomiser too low and it did a months work in a morning. I ended up writing a guide for the others there when I left but sadly everyone but me had computers that supported newer versions of Windows where the scripts ended up broken. They asked me to come back and update it the Monday after I left. I asked if they would pay me to do it. They said no. Then I said no.

I just saw this and immediately felt struck with terror about how this will be used. Cops will fill it with tear gas and I suspect it will be used at ita full force against Palestinians.

Don't they already do that via PragerU videos?

In the case of Google keyboard its crap so as to push people to use the search engine and view ads. I assume its the same for Swiftkey and Bing/CoPilot

This is one of the lasts ones I saw https://lemmy.ml/post/15546627

I'm hoping SmartTube adding DeArrow, which they say is on the roadmap, will mean completely avoiding shit like this going forward.

Yep. Picking the bear.

If you are on Android, repainter can be really nice to find an accessible background/foreground combo using the new Material You theme engine. I get the impression it wasn't designed for that purpose but it does the job if you try to use mostly Material You apps.

All I want is the ability to disable client side decorations without having to force xwayland with gtk3-classic

Best option I have found is cloudstream though you might have to search a bit for the repos.

There is a fan remake in source if that'll do for you.

Let me know how it works out if you test it. I'm not particularly confident testing it myself because my system already has issues.

Anyone willing to test performance etc on Pascal? I'm not particularly confident swapping drivers back and forth since my system is already slow and unstable.

Most of the usual reasons really. Resolved, networkd and the journal were the culprits of the mess that happened last night though.

I was trying to say that my desktop on Arch works fine but my server has been running various different distros being Ubuntu and OpenSuse Leap most recently.

If you do it right, DIY can be 1/20th the price and much more effective. Doctors can be really notorious for underdosing it.

While they are released it assists the police with intelligence gathering. In the UK police are known for giving bail conditions like "you can't meet within more than 4 people"

Chris Titus convinced Brodie not to make a video on it after Brodie took an active role and Chrisb took a passive role in the dogpile on Twitter.

It basically works with nothing to a reasonable extent on Android.

A lot of people are complaining about Kagi using Brave as a backend but the alternatives aren't much better. Both Google and Microsoft are BDS for example.

I've been considering gentoo since I used it on a chromebook. I like the binary packages but I worry about stuff that isn't because the hardware is getting pretty old. I mighy try it if I replace it though.

Read the last paragraph.

Fixed boolean logic and bump version.

I'd love this for Artix because I just prefer the experience of runit

If you want certain features, you do have options to get them. You can take estrogen and not do hair removal for example.

"Google is free"

Alpine, by its use of musl over glibc doesn't support DNS over TLS because the musl creator believes its better for user experience. It is in theory but if the other end uses it, you are out of luck and will likely spend days troubleshooting why one bit of software refuses to connect.

I use this

How are people installing it on Linux these days? Arch specifically.

Still picking the bear. Your reply, and all the other salty misogynist replies are exactly why.

The economy isn't real

Since scrapping systemd, a hell of a lot less but it can occasionally be a bit of messing about when my dynamic ip gets reassigned.

I am engaging, which is why I am picking the bear.
