This is madness but it is GLORIOUS madness!

Giving 10 bucks a year, even though I use it very little. But sometimes it's just easy and quick to look something up or read an interesting article, and I know that there are many people (students, etc.) who rely on it more than I do and have less money to spend

I's suggest Droid-ify as the F-Droid client, it properly supports background installs.

I read this as "Why Threads is Meta's biggest problem right now" and got really confused at first

I like the name.
Sue you!

Nope, works on non-rooted phones too. There'a a new installation framework in recent Android versions that allows background installs by apps other than the Play Store!

how long did it take you to upload this image?

That's really awesome! I'll hold off from trying this for one or two updates, hopefully by then Immich will automatically create albums based on the folder structure as well.
And some solid library sharing feature would also go a long way towards sharing (old) family photos with the whole family!

Congrats 🚀

Article says W5+ only adds a co-processor compared to the W5, and Google is using its own custom co-processor instead

afaik they are planning on adding federation support eventually, which would be really neat for collaboration

I think GA support + FOSS will be hard to find. That's often a feature for paid apps, but too niche for foss

Immich actually organizes your photos in a simple directory structure, which is customizable (want to group by year? year+month? by day? not at all?). The images are right there in your file system and have the original file name.
The directory is "read-only" though, for the same reason as there is a need to import existing libraries: database synchronization.
Immich offers many features that require a database or pre-processing of files, which makes it fast and feature-rich. If you modify files outside of Immich, it cannot know what changed and loses track of where your media is.

As I said, the (read-only) file structure is always there in case you want to switch.

One thing that's really bugging me out with K9 is that as soon as I open the app to the messages list, all notifications are cleared. I use notifications to keep track of what I still need to do, so this really sucks...

Forgejo is about to introduce support for federation, but is also planning to upstream those changes to GitTea down the line

Paid: Poweramp, Symfonium, Shuttle2
Free: Musicolet

My new phone is a flagship and does have a headphone jack (ASUS Zenfone 10), but I will rarely use it. Sometimes it's definitely convenient to be able to plug in some random headphones or speakers, but usually the port just literally collects dust. It actually filled up so bad on my previous phone, that any jack I plugged in didn't stay plugged in. However, that phone is now 6 years old.

Hi, Finamp dev here. I think there might be a "limit 100" on accident in there somewhere, since that is our default "page size", so the number of items we will fetch from the server at once.
If you don't mind, you could open an issue on GitHub or hop into the discord server so I can better keep track of it!

"IP" in this context would be "intellectual property"

the only advange to a keyboard that I can see is for drawing or signing documents

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Isn't Bayer a German company?

Actually the problem seems to be early adoption, at least that's what my professor told me. Wealthy countries like the USA and Germany started deploying internet infrastructure very early, and replacing all of this equipment is now very expensive. So we're mostly stuck with older tech.

They probably meant that through the tunnel you can get to one of these ports, because the HTTP requests are forwarded there. Should only work for HTTP(S) though

But you might wanna support the artists :)

Didn't know something like this existed at all! (so no idea of there are alternatives)

I'm super curious about your experiences and use case though! Care to share some insights?

As for the launcher, there's Bubble Launcher. Give it a try!

I actually have a friend that uses such a small phone, they use a regular querty keyboard, just usually in combination with glide/swipe typing. I don't think you can install WearOS keyboards, and afaik the default keyboard on WearOS is a full-size querty anyway...

Used immich-go for this too. Had no problems, and the dev is really open to feedback. All the metadata was there (except for labeled persons), and albums were also created correctly. It even inported archived photos into Immich's archive!

Just upgraded to a Zenfone 10 so running OOB for now, it's close enough to stock for me.
Before that, I extended the lifespan of my OnePlus 5 to 6 years by running custom ROMs. Most recently I was running PixelExperience and had a really great time. I used to care a lot about customization, but PE had sensible defaults and I didn't feel the need to customize a whole lot.

Worst part about running unmodified stock is that I'm not rooted any more. It's been bugging me less than I'd imagined, but there are some things (like backups) that simply won't work anymore...

It will have support before Jellyfin 10.9 is officially released. I'll be working on that feature myself! :D

Ah okay, wouldn't have thought that it would be reliable enought to pull this off.

In that case, you might want to look at some kind of knowledge base AI, like danswer. There are others, which might be better suited, but I can't seem to find them right now.

You mean fall?

Finamp works on iOS. We just launched a beta on TestFlight. It still has a long way to go, but all the important features should be there!

Take a look: https://github.com/jmshrv/finamp

(I am one of the devs)

Yeah ideally Flutter (the framework we're using to develop the app) would support this by default, but it seems like we'll have to jerryrig something...

I mean as far as I know it is possible to browse the folders directly in Jellyfin, at least using the web app. There was an option for it in the settings I think. But implementing that for Finamp might be a bit harder, sorry

I'm a bit confused by your question about Jellyfin in a Nextcloud post, but whatever xD

There's is no way to install a specific version of an app on Scale, you can only install the latest version. That applies to both the official charts as well as TrueCharts. You can however refuse to update to newer versions if you feel like it.
Keep in mind that if you decide to update later on, you can only update to the current latest version again.

Alternatively, you can set up the app "manually", by going to "Discover apps" and then clicking the "Custom app" button. That allows you to use any docker image with any tag that you want. I've used it to set up an unstable/beta version of Jellyfin, and some more test servers.

I think there's also a docker-compose app for TrueCharts that lets you point to a compose test file using host path, but that is not needed for Jellyfin.

Let me know if you have more questions!

We're in the process of redesigning Finamp from the ground up, adding new features and keeping existing ones. More info here. Stay tuned!

Okay, nice! But now the question is: Does this work with Lidarr on Steroids, so that it can use deemix for both metadata and downloading? ^^

Home Assistant can record the position of a device tracker (e.g. a phone with GPS) and does reverse geocoding (coordinates to addresses). There's also a "premises" attribute, but I'm not sure if that includes the types of places you're looking for.
Here's some more info: https://companion.home-assistant.io/docs/core/sensors#geocoded-location-sensor

I'm not aware of a nice way to browse these locations though, but at least the data would be there.

I happen to be in France this summer :P

But I should probably get my backup server set up before that...
Hope you have fun with those drives!
