Can they just give us an offline version and let us do whatever we want on it?

Because you need to transfer that heat somewhere.

150 degrees F is a normal temp for a CPU, but your computer isn't gonna run well in a 150 degree room.

Of all the people to pirate from, Floatplane shouldn't be one of them...

There is. It's called Apple News+

Pay for it.

When developers actually put this much work into making an incredible experience, it should be rewarded. Otherwise, more andore developers will trend toward F2P, P2W, GAAS crap.

I don't even think that would help... I mean, the concept and design is bad from the outset. It's not just the execution that was bad.

Ever since I started studying AI back in 2015, this has been my #1 interest and end goal for AI.

I don't think LLMs are quite good enough for what I want yet, but in a few years I think we may be there.

I really don't understand why anyone would be complaining about this. No one is going to force you to use it. You can still run your own campaigns, this will just be an amazing tool to make it more accessible to new players, and take a lot of the work off of a DM that doesn't have the time or want to put in the effort.

Imagine being able to select a setting and a ruleset, and having an AI generate an entire campaign for you along with music, location art, character art, etc, then be able to handle the rules for you, track your stats and equipment, etc and maybe even generate art for cool moments when you roll a crit.

It's currently a great tool for a DM. I always end up being the DM for my groups and I've really enjoyed using LLMs and Art generators as tools, but if I could have a competent AI DM run the game for us so I could play, I would be SO happy.

This is amazing, and the negative response just seems like elitist, gatekeepy, crotchety bitter old man syndrome.

How are you guys seeing this? I constantly hear these complaints but never see it myself.

That's not how it works. You don't just "program out the biases" you have to retain the model with more inclusive training data.

I agree about Plex. But I don't get the love for Sync.

It feels kind of clunky and it lacks some features many of the other apps have. Personally, I'm liking Thunder right now, but I'm excited for Boost to come out.

Sync has ads unless you pay, it's not open source, and I haven't actually found anything superior about it.

Good!

Great write up. Really appreciate it.

Yep. Hard to trust anyone after all that.

Looks like I won't be playing

Personally, I like Thunder

Morrowind and Fallout NV are incredible.

Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim are great.

Fallout 4 is bland as hell.

Fallout 76 and ESO are hot garbage.

I'd put Starfield in the great tier.

Cybersec White Papers haven't ranked an iPhone as the most secure phone in like 5 years.

11 years here. No intention of going back.

That's just true of social media in general. 1% of the accounts generate 99% of the content.

They do

While I absolutely 100% disagree, I respect your preference and your ability to achieve it.

I agree. I hate the trend of moving away from information density. It may seem silly, but it's the number one reason I can't use an iPhone.

Have you tried 3.5 or 4?

I haven't had many issues in 4. Occasionally it does what you're saying and I just say "bro, that doesn't exist" and it's like "oh, my bad, here you go." And gives me something that works.

You can use Ubuntu and Zorin just fine without the terminal.

It definitely looks promising, but I still don't think Jellyfin and Reiverr are quite ready to compete with Plex yet.

One of the biggest reasons I love Tulsa so much. The Art Deco architecture is gorgeous and I love that the city has embraced it and protected it as part of the culture.

Crazy to think what Tulsa would be now if the Tulsa Race Massacre and the Oil Slump hadn't happened.

For those that don't know, Tulsa was essentially the Oil Capital of the world from the 20s to the 60s. The city was growing incredibly fast and was pulling in money from all over the world.

Black Wall Street was the richest Black community in the world until the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921.

In the 40s and 50s, Tulsa was the wealthiest city in the world on a per-capita basis. In the 1966, the IPE (International Petroleum Expo) reached its peak. Then, right as the Oil Slump was starting, Houston capitalized by host the Offshore Technology Conference which drew the industry toward Houston. If the Oil Slump in the 70s hadn't happened, Tulsa would've likely seen Houston levels of growth throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Then, even the shale revolution may not have pulled Energy's capital from Oklahoma to Texas.

Anyway, we're doing fine. But Tulsa has a rich history that just kind of came to a standstill for 40 years thanks to the Oil Slump and State leadership refusing to put meaningful resources into economic diversification.

Tears of the Kingdom kept me busy for a while.

Now I'm on Diablo 4 and Dave the Diver.

I hope to play Fallen Jedi next.

Yeah, I'll likely use Boost. It was the best reddit app.

Boost is IMO the best Android Reddit app and they have a Lemmy version coming soon..

First one that looks decent

The article specifically addresses limiting the publishing of AI generated content.

But yeah, I agree that's absolutely not something I'm interested in. I'm more interested in using generative AI to make custom, context dependent content on the fly.

This isn't just full magazines...

Nothing about this will limit your human interaction.

And how do you know that?

I'm just so confused. I've been running Win 11 retail since launch and before that I ran Win 10 since launch. I've never seen anything like this.

Just finished up Diablo 4 and now I'm playing Dave the Diver.

I'd rather have dumb r/funny people in here than bitter mindless negativity

Yep. Took me forever and I never found one I was completely satisfied with.

I'm rocking the GMMK Pro with the KBD Pad MK II

Yeah, same.
