Wow. Fuck Nintendo. I own 2 switches and ToTK. Of course I emulate it, so I don't have to play at 20fps. And I can mod the game. Not buying another nintendo product again. I'm done. So apparently they had a bit asking players to not share info about the game, but you could technically back out of it without agreeing so legally they can post whatever they want. It feels like a case of "this is legal to do but maybe kinda shitty and valve might be upset". Basically the agreement was informal and not enforceable and the verge just said fuck it. They did get banned afterwards, but I think that and not working with them in the future is all valve can do.
Edit: didn't even require agreement, so honestly it's kinda fair game. I was a bit hostile calling it shitty, I felt like it was a loophole or something but it's more Valve just saying "hey pls don't" and the verge replying "no thanks", and eating the game ban since that's all valve can really do.
Execution shouldn't be an option. At least with life in prison you can release a person if you fucked up, with significant financial compensation for their time in prison. You can't un-execute a person. The state isn't competent enough to be given such power. Nobody is.
This isn't some grand conspiracy it's a closed beta for a video game. It's pretty normal to have an NDA or embargo agreement to get access. It sounds like valve just goofed the implementation. So yeah it's totally legal for them to post it, valve just might avoid giving them early copies in the future.

I played this with some friends. I'd say if you want to try it, get it on sale and mod it. Mods add a bunch of stuff like balance changes, new skills, etc.
Just be aware what the shortcomings are and understand that the devs have a history of overpromising and under delivering. If you like the game as is, nice. If you're buying for future features then you do so at what I consider great risk.
It has a VR version and I'm pretty sure if I tried it I'd run into a wall in a panic a few times at least.
Helped my dad do tech support for a doc office. Even simple stuff like glucose meters barely worked on windows 7, and broke with windows 10. The web portal they used required a specific version of internet explorer to function. I think the biggest issue is always going to be how slowly these devices work in terms of drivers and software compatibility. For security and cost reasons, I'd guess.

So I don't know if I'd call it intentional, but there's definitely no legal reason they can't post whatever they want. They just got banned for it and might have damaged their relationship with valve somewhat. Depends on how much valve cares tho.

Yep, shadow of the erdtree :) I've been big on invading since Dark Souls 1 and I found that the fog catacombs are a delight to invade in.
Love those cannon imps. Such a goofy enemy, and such a good enemy for invaders. Anything that does aoe and knockback is my bff in invasions.
I think it's also worth keeping in mind that some people use AI to generate "real sounding" content for clicks, or for scams, rather than making actual decent content. I'd argue humans making shitty content is going to be on a much worse scale as AI helps automate it. The other thing is I worry AI can't as easily tell human or AI made bullshit from decent content. I may know the top 2 google results are AI gen clickbait, but whatever is scraping content en masse may not bother to differentiate. So it might become an exponential issue.

The stone refers to a series of items thatve been around since dark souls 1 where you drop a magic stone and a voice comes out saying the line. In dark souls 1 and some others it was a rock you dropped and it broke open making sound, so the "stone" term stuck.
In elden ring it's called a "prattling pate: 'voice line here'". Your character blows into it like a flute kinda and the line is spoken.
