Run updates without me having to worry that "whoops, an update was fucked, and the system is not unbootable anymore. Enjoy the next 6 hours of begging on forums for someone to help you figure out what happened, before being told that the easiest solution is to just wipe your drive and do a fresh install, while you get berated by strangers for not having the entirety of the Linux kernel source code committed to memory."
All this going on, and would you look at that, the very traditional looking couple in the middle look perfectly fine. In fact, they look pretty happy about life. As does everyone else. The horror.
Edit: zoomed in a little more. I guess their supposed to be angry? I thought the guy was happy at first. Not sure what exactly they have to be angry about, as literally no one is doing anything to them.
Beheading kings.
Made the switch from Plex to jellyfin last week. Runs so much smoother, far fewer issues, my NAS isn't lighting itself on fire, and I don't have unwanted features being shoved down my throat every time I open the client app. A few small UI things I don't like, but Plex had just fucked up the exact same UI element on me anyway.
I think it's finally time I get around to setting up a second sonarr instance to customize for anime.
As long as everything is wired properly, and there's not too much going on on any individual circuit, that's an awesome setup for so many things. Imagine you're a streamer/YTer, OF girl, maybe musician with a big recording setup, etc. How nice is it to not need a shit ton of extension cords, power strips, splitters, etc, to plug in all of your camera chargers, lights, audio devices, other assorted devices required for such a setup. Even though I didn't film/stream when I was painting/crafting, I still needed so many power strips to plug in my lights, airbrush compressor, paint booth fans and lights, Dremel and other tool chargers, laptop, 3d printer and wash station, mini fridge, and other assorted items. I only have 2 outlets. So yeah.
MSG
The original Star wars trilogy was overrated, the sequels were underrated, and I'd rate them all to be equally mediocre.
Funny, considering I've moved over to a paid proton account as my primary email, and my former primary email/Gmail account, with its ability to instantly become infinitely many disposable email addresses, is now used as exactly that. This same procedure occured many years ago, when I made my yahoo email into the disposable junk mail home, and my shiny new Gmail became my primary. I wonder how many years it be until proton becomes my disposable, and some as-of-yet to be created service becomes my new primary email. Or maybe email will finally be dead by then, and we'll use something else entirely.
I will say, even after all of these years, and using the living shit out of my Gmail account in many, many places, I still only get two or three spam emails at most during the entire year.
Photoshop, Fences, Plex, Steam, Unraid. I just highly prefer them to any alternatives I have tried. And believe me, I have tried every alternative to Photoshop and Fences that I could find. They just don't do it. And because of those two in particular, I have to add Windows to the list.
Oh, and I guess Sync for Lemmy. The only reason I even know what Lemmy is, is the fact that the Sync for Reddit app stopped working and basically said, "Yeah, move to Lemmy, idiot."
Thou shalt not fuck kids. They definitely meant for that to be in there, right? Guys...?
And here I thought nothing was gonna go right this year at all.
Chinese food. The common fast food type here in the US. Yeah, I can spend a bunch of time, work, and money to make orange chicken, boneless spare ribs, crab rangoon, teriyaki, coconut shrimp, and pork fried rice. Or, I can go 5 minutes up the street, and pay my favorite restaurant $20 for a big plate with all of that, with absolutely no work on my part, and it all tastes way better.
I went the route of accepting their 2-month trial of Premium, and immediately disabled it from continuing after the 2 months. Hopefully that's enough time to come up with an acceptable solution that works the way I want it to. Honestly, if Premium was like $5/month, they'd get my money. But for almost triple that? Fuck no, never happening.
Privacy.com card, limit $1. Deezer premium free trial with fake email, immediately lock and delete privacy card. Login to Deezer in the deemix-gui app. Proceed to download all the music you could possibly want, in lossless format, until the trial runs out. Proceed to create a new privacy card and a new Deezer premium trial with a new fake email. Problem solved.
What disadvantages? Losing fake internet points? I deleted every post and comment I had ever made, as well as my account, several years ago. It has negatively impacted my life in exactly zero ways. Look man, no offense, but you're not erasing the works of Shakespeare over here. The world will keep on turning just fine if you delete your collection of memes and shit posts.
Politicians and guillotines are terrible on their own, but when combined....
Either he'll run and keep ripping the Republican party to shreds, or he'll drop dead. Either way, it's a win.
Pretty soon they'll be trying to put me in prison for mass-murder every time I jerk off.
YouTube, Amazon, Comcast Internet, and my employer. In fact, all employers.
Well thank fuck they've started addressing such important issues.
I pay the $2/month version. Supports the dev, and keeps an otherwise unused credit card active. And considering this is now the only form of social media and/or interacting with other people online I use, I figure it's worth two bucks a month. The same way the $15 or so I didn't post month, spread across multiple patreon accounts, is worth it to support the small handful of content creators that make the vast majority of my daily entertainment.
I've been trying to take two stances lately. The first being the idea of "if you're not the customer, you're the product."
And the second being the CGPGrey method. Which is basically, if an app or service is important to me, I specifically WANT it to be a paid app/service. If the app in question doesn't have a clear path to being financially viable for those making/running it, there's too much risk that the dev may eventually have to stop working on it in order to go do something else that can earn them a living.
Or no, something being open source, or not, did not change this equation. People gotta live.
Facebook marketplace is the only place I've been able to actually sell anything for at least a couple of years now. Craigslist used to be the shit, now it's just shit. OfferUp is absolute trash. Let go was pretty good, but got bought out and shut down by OfferUp a while back. Unfortunately, FB might be the best place, for now. I can't wait until I can finish selling off all of the stuff I need to get rid of. It's the only reason I haven't fully deleted my FB account yet.
Currently, just when I have to use it to install anything that I can't install via game mode, and when I need to tweak the system or game files, copy roms from my NAS, etc.
I don't say it because you are, in fact, not welcome. I finish interactions with customers, even when they say thank you to me, by saying "thank you, have a nice day", as my non fireable version of "I'll thank you to kindly fuck off now."
Soda, chips, candy, etc. If I'm gonna buy it, I'm buying the good one. I've tried many different off/store brand peanut butter cups, and they're always fucking horrendous.
Surprisingly, frozen pizza is the opposite. The store brand ones are really good (at least the ones I get at Shaw's and Market Basket). Meanwhile, I've payed much more in order to try out the big name brands. They are usually smaller, lower quality, and taste worse than the store brand ones that cost nearly half as much.
I open Google, search "am I gonna die", and if it says probably not, then I ignore whatever it is and hope it goes away. And if it says I am, then I wait for the end to come.
Pre.....pare....? What's that? Some sorta fruit?
Their goal is pretty standard affair.
Until scrolling past this post, and then scrolling back out of confusion, I had completely forgotten she even existed.
Orgasmo. The '97 one, not the '69 one. ... fuck it, also the '69 one. Make it a double-feature.
The fact that any point made in this post, no matter how reasonable a complaint, or how heinous it would be considered if done to a woman, will likely be derided and dismissed as misogyny, mansplaining, whining, etc, and all male participants in the discussion labeled as incels.
”I can kill myself tomorrow."
Sometimes it means one thing, sometimes another.
Stanley Parable and Trover Saves the Universe are both pretty funny. I'm sure there are a ton of really funny games, but for some reason, they're not coming to mind.
One time, I had this wild popup that said there were system updates available. Madman that I am, I clicked the update button. Goodbye working system. Decided it was time to switch back to Windows 11 for a while.
There was a local band where I am 20+ years ago called Naucet. With songs such as "This is Not a Convenient Time to be Stabbed". I have absolutely no idea what happened to the band, where they went, what they did. I can find no reference to them anywhere online whatsoever. I have a musician friend who was friends with them(maybe just one of them, I forget at this point) and has copies of their music on an old hard drive somewhere in a closet. Been a number of years since I've seen/heard from said friend, so I can only assume whether or not he still has that old hard drive. If he does, then for all I know, that might be the only place in existence that you can find that music.
Yes. Yes it is. I had a single Windows install that was my main system. I eventually decided to semi-switch to Linux, and passed that SSD through to a VM, along with the GPU and half of my USB ports in order to continue running that Windows install for gaming and Adobe stuff. You just have to keep messing around with the config of the VM, and look up info about getting your UUID from Windows to add to your VM config, so your Windows license/activation will keep working as is. There are guides and info for all of this if you Google around. Don't remember exactly where I found those guides, as I ran that setup for about year and then switched that Windows install back to bare metal, and it has been about another year since then. I do remember that I got the same boot issues as you when switching back and forth between bare metal and VM, and I had to run the Windows boot repair tools to get everything working. Trying looking into that.
I'd just ask which opening I should come in through, same as my girlfriend. Obviously.
Because here in America, when they take my money, it's to give away to oil companies and weapons dealers. Not to give us all health care and affordable housing.
