Isn't AI generated better than content sourced from real life? It could actually drive a reduction in child sexual abuse instances due to offenders leveraging alternative sources.

This is correct, phosphorus and nitrogen is exchanged for carbohydrates. Mutually beneficial symbiosis.

The real story is why humanitarian aid is not being allowed by land. To me, this seems to violate my sense of fair play and lacks basic decency. And bombing civilian targets. The civilians are, on the majority, not responsible for the circumstances they now find themselves in and don't deserve death. The pier is a decoy to move visibility away from two US presidents that won't stop it.

There are so many industries where building or manufacturing standards will not withstand environmental changes.

With Google providing 80% of Mozilla's finding, I think we can all see whats going to happen next.

Even shorts would be a great first step!

'Scraping' is the process of anonymously and programmatically collecting data from a webpage(s), often without the website's permission and only limited to the content made publicly available. This is in contrast to using an API provided by the database owner which is limited by tokens, access volume, available end points etc.

Staying away from Reddit for sure. The people make Reddit, not the corporation. I go where my people are.

I can go anywhere there is alcohol present and not drink it.

Of course sir, you're new low cost car insurance policy is right through this door over here .... 🔒

I would start blasting through school, saving every penny to invest in known companies, get a degree in my current specialty field but start working in it earlier, quit when my investments pay off, retire early and live a completely new life.

With what money? That country keeps all it's people poor.

Yes! Bury your seafood waste, like prawn shells and fish heads, next to the tree and you will get large sweet bananas (assuming watering and general feeding). Applies to most fruit trees.

Just another feature imo

Ironically it's probably those who resist sexuality who are the most sexually deviant

All this does is highlight best practice for data backups. Accidents happen, be prepared.

Lemmy is only one component of the Fediverse. We are Citizens of the Federated Universe!

Anything being that has a sense of self and other has a level of conscious awareness.

Say goodbye to lawns! Yes!

If the Fediverse is truly the architecture of the future, then shouldn't it be able to stand any attempt by Meta to control it? If Meta is able to control it, then isn't it the wrong solution?

I ... can't stop clicking

Changed only a few weeks ago from Win 11, all the AI crap was creeping in. Using Ubuntu and really enjoying it!

Had to re-login in the Connect app

What if a post is acceptable by the rules/mods at instance b but the post breaks the rules at instance a?

Options:

  • Instantly stop syncing? Seems dramatic
  • Mods align rules? Utopia
  • Mods keep rules misaligned and users seek out preferred instance? Most likely outcome but this would still create a weird multi-tonal vibe in 'mixed' communities at the user level experience unless instances can find a way to express themselves with a localised 'style'.

You've got a lot of spirit kid

The default view of Subscribed is already an option under user settings in Jerboa.

There is also an option not to show posts you have read but be warned it really won't show you posts you have read including your own posts in your profile view.

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Will keep you fit, you won't be able to think about your life problems for 1-hour ... guaranteed, you'll make new friends, you will build mental resilience and you'll learn self-defence. So many benefits as long as you train for the long-term and avoid injury.

"Your mom" also works.

You would go mad otherwise

A real lemming would use the post to wipe afterwards

"Several mining companies have plans to collect these nodules"

Of course there are. This why we can't nice things.

And if SSRIs don't work, try psilocybin! Legalised in OZ for treatment resistant depression.

At home watching on live TV

There are billions of people on earth who don't have access to a computer.

Depends how you define user. If I am googling for answers to a problem and find it on Reddit, am I a user?

This is ironically close to the truth

I read this as Ghost Buster umbrella

Agreed. I see supply chains (both production and logistics) for all sectors either disappearing all together or becoming severely limited. This will drive population reduction and the development of local economies. Local food production will become the highest valued commodity but the primary input (water) will be increasingly scarce and valuable. Rainwater harvesting will be a priority for all along with solar energy production and storage.

Regardless of how many people stay on Fediverse or return to Reddit, the important thing is that so many people are now aware of, and engaging with, alternatives.

This is why you build by integrating into the hill rather than flattening it.
