You can’t use torrents on iOS. You would need to have a pc and load files in.
Pirating apps is a lot harder.
It’s not ideal, But iOS is nice to use, and iPads are very nice.. as long as you not trying to break any laws.

My vibe is the OS checks the new drive on startup, and gets mad that it’s not formatted instead of moving along.
