I'm here because Lemmy.World keeps going down and Beehaw activity plummeted after defederating from the larger instances.

@Dee@lemmy.world

I'm so happy this is the top comment when I came in here. We're not centralized social media that requires constant content generation to acquire more views and we shouldn't try to treat it as such. Donate to your instances when you can, contribute to communities you care about with posts/comments, and then when you reach the end of your feed log off. How forums are supposed to be imo.

It's great to have additional studies confirming this! But this is also what the trans community has been saying for years. Please just listen to us when it comes to our own bodies šŸ„²

the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, reported last year that roughly 20% of Americans have medical debt

I'm honestly shocked it's only 20%.

No doubt, this is the best mushroom book imo. It's on my shelf as I type this.

The malware disguises itself as authentic Google ads

Let this be yet another reminder that you should always browse with some kind of AdBlock enabled.

I'll honestly be shocked if they can get him to shut up about the trial.

random US city response, probably

Not random. You just described Houston, Texas.

Are we okay with this?

It's their instance, their rules. You can join another instance that doesn't defederate from them or make your own. That's the beauty of the fediverse design. It doesn't matter if we're okay with it, we have options to get around it unlike with centralized platforms.

Lotta meth in the Nazi party, looks like a bit of meth mouth and a side of tobacco dipping to me.

I imagine the same reason so many Americans think of the UK as just London, or France as just Paris. I don't know what that reason is, but I imagine it's probably the same reason.

Thank you for some sanity. Dems are far from perfect but they've done a lot of good and can continue to if we can get more in office.

It's optional, you can make it e2e encrypted with the secret chat option, which the CCP doesn't like.

I love this! I'm going to contact my local uni's tech dept to see if that's something they'd be interested in participating in if they're not already.

Say what you will about W (there's a lot to criticize) but he was quick with those dodges lol

What happened in Florida now?

For me, it's about efficiency. Because I am not a lawyer, but I also do anal.

Advocacy and nonprofit groups that support different minority groups need to come together to fight, Newman said.

ā€œWe have a chance of winning this war thatā€™s been thrust upon us. Itā€™s been building for years but now itā€™s climactic where thereā€™s hundreds of laws, state and federal, and bills coming up every week, attacking us, and we need support,ā€ she said.

Anybody want to drop their favorite advocacy and nonprofit groups so we can support them? Seems about all we can do until the next election as normal citizens.

I really like Rainbow Railroad but they're not the only one.

As a former Texan, it's quite difficult to vote. The work culture there makes it even harder but the state also purposely makes it as inconvenient as possible. If you're low income and don't have vacation time or anything like that it's really hard to get out and vote in-person. Now I'm in a state with mail-in voting by default and Texas makes me even more sick when I saw how easy it's supposed to be.

More people could definitely make more of an effort there, but the barriers to vote shouldn't be overlooked imo

It's not coming back, it never left. We're seeing them get more aggressive because they know that the newer generation isn't buying into the ideology as much as previous generations and so their ideals are going to die with them unless they use systemic tools to enforce it.

I wouldn't go that far.

I was more referring to the common knowledge among the trans community that already knew this information prior to any studies. If you're trans and in the community this is a "well no shit" kind of study. We've been telling it to cis people for years but the refusal to listen to that was palpable. That's why I said it's great to have additional studies to point to if they don't want to listen to the trans community themselves, they can maybe listen to this study.

I keep seeing you pop up in comment sections. I almost finished my book last night just a few chapters left and I promise I'll post something to your instance to promote activity lol

Star Citizen might take the cake, I say as an original Kickstarter backer of Star Citizen.

It's entirely possible to have a cat without your house smelling but so many cat owners get lazy with the litter cleaning. We have one cat, use corn based litter (can't stand the clay smell of the cheaper litters) and scoop it once a day at least. I've had guests multiple times confirm with me that I had a cat when they came over because they couldn't smell anything and are used to that smell you're describing. One friend demanded to see where the litter box was because they didn't believe me lol. As long as you keep on the litter it only takes like thirty seconds to scoop it so there's no hassle doing it once or twice a day. Also using the correct litter makes a big difference too.

Maybe they were denied as a Wikipedia admin? lol

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you filthy Imperial? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in House Telvanni, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Black Marsh, and I have over 300 confirmed farm equipment kills. I am trained in Dunmer warfare and I'm the top battlemage in the entire Vvardenfell armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision spells the likes of which has never been seen before in this realm, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across Cyrodiil and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the ash storm, scrib. The ash storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with conjuration. Not only am I extensively trained in alchemical combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Sixth House and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn N'wah. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

Brought to you by the Great House Telvanni.

It's my turn to ask the question tomorrow morning, I call it.

I canā€™t find many other articles discussing this.

We've known they've been doing this since at least Snowden, what's the story?

Remember that government agency that hoovers up all our data? Yeah, they're still doing that. Only they don't have to try as hard because they can just buy our info instead of snooping for it (but they're also still snooping).

Maybe it's good to remind people it's still happening because apparently everyone forgot we were told they've been doing this, for a while.

Itā€™s someone somewhere deciding what I can or canā€™t see on a remote host they have no control over.

I mean, they do have control over it in a sense. They can defederate from it so it's no longer on their instance, which they did. You can still access the community from other instances though, like you're doing now, so it's not really a big deal. This is how federation is meant to function. People running their instances by their own rules.

I agree though, their rationale for defederation from this community does not add up for me either. But at the end of the day they can be as irrational as they want with their instance.

Doubt. The mod logs are public with Lemmy so you should be able to link to the comment/report that got you banned to show us you were banned for what you said you were.

Also, this pages where it is impossible to select any text at all.

On android, you can still select text on those pages from the switch apps screen (swipe up from the bottom, hold, then release on Pixels). Found that workaround on accident lol

Yeah, I was playing armored core back before From Soft got their recognition with the Souls series and so I'm really excited we're getting this series back. But now, with all the lessons learned from the Souls series! I'm sure it will be great, it's just I'm a patient gamer so will still likely wait until a sale šŸ˜‚

As a former Texan, you'll never see Abbott do anything that might directly benefit the people instead of benefitting profit.

I think it's a meme from here tbh

Edit: wait, if it includes camera it would be this

Another Sys Admin confirming that yes, the finance department runs nearly entirely on VBA. They would be lost without it.

I'm not sure if it was your intention or you didn't read the second half of my comment but you essentially repeated the point I just made, therefore, yes I agree.

One of my favorite joker moments in the comics! Always love seeing it posted.

I literally do not care enough to read the articles

Which is another reason your opinion can be thrown promptly in the trash. Can't even be bothered to read the sources and yet want to appear as some authority on the subject. Laughable, disingenuous behavior.
