Did the publisher know which ip they were working on?

gestures broadly at the current state of KSP2

To quote every Oblivion NPC: "I don't know you, and I don't care to know you."

You gotta wonder WTF the French were thinking when they decided to force people into the sweltering insomnia of 80 degrees indoors at night just for the sake of creating the appearance that climate change is the fault of the dispossessed proletariat running air conditioners to survive global heating, and pretending like the owners of the means of production aren't actually in a position to change how the economy functions.

Speaking to reporters early Wednesday, Tver Gov. Igor Rudenya said that all drones in the region were shot down and that there was a fire on the ground as a result of debris from a downed drone. As he spoke, loud explosions could be heard in the background.

Fewer births is good news - a solution rather than a problem. There needs to be fewer humans if we're to avoid cooking ourselves and sending other species into extinction. We should all be so lucky as China to have this 'problem'.

The new law will establish an “obligation for the manufacturer to repair common household products ..."

This isn't what "right to repair" typically means. I've only ever heard that phrase used to describe the right of the owner to repair the devices they own themselves and to not be required to bring them to the manufacturer for repair.

In a world with too many humans already, can you imagine painting a drop in the birth rate as somehow a bad thing?

this is not going to get anyone excited about voting for him, but it will galvanize the opposition and push swing voters into staying home on election day at the very least

surely producing a lower volume of lower quality products will improve the bottom line, right?

I stopped buying their shit after they started hiring Pinkerton mercenaries to clean up their mistakes.

from the wiki:

Following the Civil War, the Pinkertons began conducting operations against organized labor.[5] During the labor strikes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, businesses hired the Pinkerton Agency to infiltrate unions, supply guards, keep strikers and suspected unionists out of factories, and recruit goon squads to intimidate workers.[6] During the Homestead Strike of 1892, Pinkerton agents were called in to reinforce the strikebreaking measures of industrialist Henry Clay Frick, who was acting on behalf of Andrew Carnegie, the head of Carnegie Steel.[7]

I've never seen a Nord wearing such fine clothes.

Why does the working class, the larger of the two classes, not simply eat the smaller one?

The market for hybrid vehicles has lately been growing even faster than for fully electric vehicles; hybrids, which do not have to be plugged in, allow consumers to avoid a patchy national public charging network.

Not to mention the lack of chargers at rented residences, and the inability for most of us to afford to buy our own house.

There was a relevant post on Lemmy the other day:

The origin and nature of existence is an epistemological black hole that some people like to plug with "a wizard god did it".

The sensation of free will is an emergent property of a lack of awareness of the big stuff, the small stuff, the long stuff, and the short stuff.

Maybe requiring computer nerds to not smoke weed if they want to work for Uncle Sam isn't the best national security strategy.

less of a 'disaster' than it is a 'good start'

Did he turn traitor before or after leaving the agency? It looks pretty bad - like he was trying to overthrow the government and install a Russian asset as dictator. I wonder if he also sold state secrets to America's enemies?

Yeah, every UI change since 7 has been for the worse, increasing the number of steps required to get work done.

The things people drink out of are many different sizes of course, but when the word "cup" is used in the context of a measure of volume, then yes, they're called "measuring cups", and the volume is standardized.

Same thing with teaspoons and tablespoons. They're not just any random spoon - when talking about measurements, they have a standardized volume and you need to use a cheap and ubiquitous measuring device if you want to follow a recipe precisely.

Most people in USA do not have a scale in their kitchen, but we do have a measuring cup and a set of measuring spoons.

that would threaten Monsanto’s patents

Its the other cancer peddling shitheel this time. Syngenta owns the patent, making it completely justified for Greenpeace to prevent them from gaining control of the food supply, even if they have to use BS arguments about food safety to do so.

"You'll pay for that!"

Yes, I know how stores work.

Anecdotally, last time I was looking for a job, these kind of positions were offering about 50% less than the income you need to be considered poor enough to qualify for government assistance - you could work 80 hours a week and still need food stamps.

Nobody wants to hire anymore.

So this big breakthrough in tire technology is . . . making them harder and reducing their grip?

Its fossil fuel lobby propaganda.

the entire industry: "...and also fragment our offerings across a dozen different subscription services."

Are bots now explicitly permitted? Or is just that users are banned from revealing them, making bots implicitly permitted?

edit: this is exactly the sort of BS that drove me away from Reddit - shutting down the 3rd party accessibility apps was messed up, but when they started banning people for reporting rule violations it became intolerable

Avocados and logging also don't need to worry about getting shut down by the law like the cocaine and heroin business does.

Legalize the coke and dope, and the incentive to resort to violence to avoid criminal penalties goes away.
