As a western European, to me the problem isn’t that they’re fired on the spot, but that a company can actually do that. You guys should’ve fought for your rights.

Ah yes, children security. Of course.

If someone would use in a Yt video 0,001 ms of a Pokémon sound, Nintendo would sue the guy, kidnap his family, kill the hamster and shit on the bed.

Activision Blizzard has become such a huge pile of disgusting shit that people are quite tempted to see what would happen if the devil Microsoft buys it.

Sure, a rational response in a dystopian country

Hey, I just started using Mastodon and my experience for now is a bit mixed. I must be doing something wrong.

I don’t follow people yet but only subjects (#). Thing is, my feed isn’t really interesting. I come across german, asian, spanish posts (I’m looking for french and english content) and the vast majority of them isn’t "retweeted" (boosted ?) or even "liked". Most aren’t interesting to be quite honest and I don’t like browsing my feed. Would love to know what do I do wrong !

At no point in this Tweet I knew how each sentence would end. What a roller coaster

It’s obviously not forbidden to fire people. You just can’t do it like that, because you woke up grumpy that particular morning. Employees are highly protected in France, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be fired.

I have a perfectly accurate 1:1 scale lightsaber replica of Luke Skywalker. It turns on, it’s really bright, it reacts accordingly to how I swing it, can deflect blasters and makes tons of cool sounds…

I don’t bring it up in conversation, but when people find out they get really excited (well, boys mostly)

Fuckin hell, one of my favourite game was about to ditch flash (yea I know lol) for Unity and then that. They invested tons of money, idk what will happen

I started music when I was like 7/8, my parents encouraged me to do so. And here we are, 20 years later, my dad told me cocaine would’ve probably been way cheaper.

I personally don’t find it fine. You’re talking as if everyone is equal meanwhile, most of the time, there is a subordination. People usually don’t say "I want to work with that guy because I think he’s nice". Sometimes it’s "I need to work anywhere because I need to feed my children and simply survive". Those people can’t live in fear of losing their job everytime their boss has a twisted testicle, they can’t afford being jobless. Their lives depend on it.

But it’s something quite cultural, that’s how we decided to build our society.

It has flaws though : corporations can become quite cautious when hiring someone, making sure they fit well and won’t cause any trouble.

The Apple part might change quite soon, with the EU’s Digital Market Act. Apple will have to allow users to download apps from other markets than the Appstore.

I did have motion sickness at first but got used to it quite quickly. It actually disappeared on the 2nd/3rd day of use I think. I have absolutely no problem driving race sims all day long if needed, I’ve been using my VR gear for 3 years now.

Of course, 28, French. 99,99% of people here drive manual (or at least know how to).

Wait, I’ve seen this one

Nothing. You breathe twice, then blackout. You wake up in a bedroom, feels like an unpleasant and quite huge hangover. Then, as the anesthesia fades away, you might feel the pain coming progressively (depending on what you have).

Baldur’s Gate 3. Still my first run with a friend, we do not want this to end at all. We take our time as much as we can, exploring everything. It’s so much fun, we’re absolutely into the story.

I can’t imagine the feeling of emptiness once we finish this.

Man do I love breathing. I sometime do it without even noticing

Shh, not too loud. Our plan to take over Europe is slowly unfolding

I believe it’s not a matter of is it harmful or not ? Just that there are rules and they’re not Apple’s to change. Until governments and societies decide to change them, they must comply.

Hm, that’s too bad. Though it shows the incredible powers those algorithms have. Mastodon has been utterly bland for me but I’m not ready to give up yet.

Well, it’s +/- the same for all Western Europe I guess. I’m from France and we also witness our then really strong public services getting weaker and weaker. Privatisation and less stated owned, leaning a bit towards the (beware, hot take) fucked up US system.

Regarding immigration, we do have a problem here : people coming to France can’t be welcomed in good conditions. We must either stop or reduce it (right wing answer) or invest way more than we do now to welcome them more decently (left wing answer). But something needs to be done indeed.

What the fuck did you just bring upon this cursed land

Well, in french we have the simple yet effective "Enculé de ta race" and I just can’t translate it. If someone’s brave enough to do it, many thanks in advance.
