Maybe I am underestimating the amount of people buying seasons of TV shows on PlayStation, but this seems like a lot of PR pain for very little potential upside.

I can definitely tell that they are next to each other.

No it doesn’t. Be real.

I have no idea. It’s got to be some non-zero %.

But it is a notable part of the Hamas strategy to not make a distinction between their soldiers and Palestinian civilians, so it’s very difficult to determine.

No mention of Hamas soldiers. Are they not involved in this conflict?

I’m getting the opposite from that quote.

Yup, it’s just for show.

I’m not sure this will bring prices down

Frances is notable for being very strict about cell phone radiation. They require every phone sold to include a headset with mic, not for hand free driving, but because the government says that talking on the phone normally exposes your head to dangerous levels of radiation.

It’s not an original thought, but one that no-one has been able to realize. Turns out tech moves forward, and people want the latest and greatest.

They don’t?

I’m pretty sure you can install iOS 16 on an iPhone 8, which came out in 2017, almost 6 years ago. And that’s a major system update. If you just need security updates, the latest one was in January and supported phones as far back as the iPhone 5s, released almost 10 years ago today.

But in reality, people want better phones and better cameras every few years, so they buy them. And they tend not to throw out their old ones, but sell/trade them or pass them along to someone else.

You can’t vote for or against them now anyway. Maybe give it a year and see where things stand then?

Unless Trump actually contacted them and told them what to do, I don’t see that much flipping to be done here.

Tackling Tik Tok, the biggest Chinese propaganda machine? I sleep.

Investigating the cancellation of a show that nobody watched? Real shit!

Or just don’t play around on your phone while you drive. Pick your podcast/playlist, load the directions, and off you go.

Uh oh.

Yes. I fear the law of unintended consequences here. Will this lead to more or fewer houses being built?

If it’s a messaging protocol and it’s starting to solidify, chances are Google will abandon it soon anyway.

You mean that site full of people screaming about Reddit for a month is full of negativity?

We didn’t discuss politics and everyone had a nice time.

They aren’t really predictive of the 2024 election, but they are shifting significantly in response to current events.

New info. Suspect is male, and has been moved to another county where they ‘could face charges’.

Apple stopped selling the iPhone 12 yesterday, not because of France’s regulations, but because it is so old that it has been bumped out of the line by the iPhone 13.

I gave a link to it up the thread. It’s the most recent Quinnipiac poll. If you want another rude awakening, look at the latest NYT/Senna poll.

Polls are certainly not predictive this far out, but they are shifting significantly right now. And they don’t rule out a strong RFK run if more Dems decide to ditch Biden.

I don’t think Batman is very concerned with illegal police work.

My concern is that it will cause prices to go up and fewer new home to be built.

Fact check: Is Kamala Harris the most unpopular vice president ever? Because Quinnipiac, Marist and other polls were not available at the founding of the Republic, we’ll never know for sure. What we do know is that Harris is viewed far more unfavorably than favorably in poll after poll. Her numbers are lower than her four immediate predecessors at this point in their terms, though Dan Quayle’s unfavorables were worse. So were Dick Cheney’s in his second term.

Ooof.

lol. Nah, someone told me not to make my username Tim.

It might not be so simple.

“In a warning sign for Democrats, Kennedy was the leading choice for young voters, aged 18-34, in the poll’s surveyed population — 38 percent of whom chose the environmental lawyer. From the same age group, 32 percent picked Biden and 27 percent went for Trump.”

The rule change was made specifically for him. I think it’s reasonable to want to know why. He had medical issues, is it related to that?

Was he ever arrested? I’m talking about the police holding somebody against their will without saying who it is.

RFK is polling at 22%. Winning independents with 36%.

I don’t think we can really dismiss him yet.

So…. Who was it?

Sometimes people are charged with a crime and then found innocent. Should we keep defendants names secret until they are found guilty and all appeals are exhausted?

“We’ve arrested somebody, but haven’t charged them with anything, and you’re not allowed to know who it is.”

It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to see how that could be abused.

1 more...

Why not? Shouldn’t we get to know the names of people arrested by the police? Should they be allowed to withhold that information from the public? Seems kind of police-state-y.

Is there an actual reason he can’t wear a suit, though?

I get that China interference is a big deal, but actually dealing with it means getting serious and banning Tik Tok to start.

This is the smallest of potatoes. An excuse to make noise without doing anything.

Some people seem to think anything is fine if it’s for social media. An Apple genius was fired recently for making ‘I work at Apple ’ tech tip Tik Toks and she seemed totally baffled as to why that might be a problem.
