Actually love this stuff

Maybe I'm missing something as I'm not from the states. Why the hell is a guy who is famous for murder invites to talk at a university?

Seeing how 90% of the ads I get are reeeeeally missing the boat, they might already be over- harvesting my data?

What an odd title, not naming the democratic guy with the better fundraiser. I guess Boobert is good click beat over the pond?

Damn his wiki doesn't really describe anything he did to become a millionaire, except for being born is a good family. That's really all it takes huh?

On the other hand, great to see these donations have already been added to his page. Fuck this guy and everything around him.

Not being a Facebook user and only seeing some mentions of FB/Meta in thread like this I can confirm I haven't heard of the Facebook Papers. It rings a bell about some privacy violation stuff, but not a big one.

Going over the counter with a swab and some random household spray soap. I think some people have the great habit to always keep the kitching clean, but we don't, and I've noticed that when you really try to keep it clean it not only looks so much fucking more calm and not like a mind-pulling warzone of stuff to do, but I also noticed less (fruit)flies, which, now that i'm writing it, makes our kitchen sound fucking disgusting.

Google has been shit for a while now, innit?

Subbed to it last year because I like a lot of the nature stuff, and it's pretty good. But to be honest, in the day to day live I tend to forget it and go for the quick and easy dopamine rush of a comedy show I already saw 300 times. A bit sad

Lotr: the two tower.

Something about a tower shaped like a two?

Wait Musk is still such a strong first place? I thought with twitter bombing, people starting to dislike Tesla, general weird behavior, he was losing quite a bit? I'm probably way out of touch but isn't someone catching uo to him?

Why does it sound like reddit trained AI will only get dumber.

Wanted to make a joke about fancy young cars, but apparently automatic tire pressure systems have been around since the 80's, and apparently it's mandatory in the EU since 2014?

Never saw it in a car myself, but the youngest car I ever drove is I think my dad's from 2010 or something.

Where Gojira?

Interesting read. To anyone interested, the original article can be found here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41560-020-00696-3 Also note there is a critical re-analysis posted in 2022 reporting some other results, and a reply from the original author again.

Read a paper on this at some point, and this has become standard practise at home. Notice that visitting friends don't do this, so I thought about looking framing the paper and/or some figures showing those plumes after flushing (can't remember what paper it was but I guess searching pubmed for "toilet flushing" will easily give some appropriate results).

edit: OK "toilet flushing plume" did the trick and showed this marvel (see figure 2) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9732293/

Plus one for airfryer. Bought one that was on discount a few years back, has a spot on top of the cabinet when not in use but it's almost always on the counter.

If doing nothing is already an improvement, this must be a whole other level. It's forreal super cool to hear this, but there I'm wondering how sustainable this type of action is with opposing right wing politicians. I mean, it feels kind a no brainer that this is the right thing to do, but the previous administration apparently got away with some other views?

Hope this works out well!

I love beautiful environments and such, so if I could pick anything that wouldn't exists based on something that does exist, I would make a 3D or even VR version of this old Korean 2D sidescrolling game called Maplestory.

Not gonna lie, that's going to be 99.9% nostalgia, but it has a couple of awesome areas that have amazing backgrounds and thoughts behind it. Like typical magical forests, dungeons, cloud cities, but also a lego-gone-interdimensional city where time is weird.

'49?

Wait so is that like basically different clock mechanisms hooked into each other?

Ameisen Fußball? Never heard of that, super cool

Lol sports, cars, hunting are lame as fuck hobbies anyway

Don't the current quantum computers also rely on superconducting materials that need to be kept sort cold?

Well that seems awefully backwards

"So it could perhaps turn out useful or totally useless."

That's a realistic statement. Although the MRI thing sounds cool as well. I recall last year a big grant for a big 14T mRI project was awarded in the Netherlands, I wonder if this thing will make them reevaluate their plans. Before this becomes viable in such a setting I can imagine a lot more is needed, but it would be such a typical thing that they finish building a 14T MRI and then "hey guys we just finished this superconductor pipeline and stuff is much easier/better now!"

I feel like a common trend is that if people generally showed more compassion for others, quite a bit would much better already. I mean for instance with vaccines, , not immediately vilifying people for not wanting the bacon, but trying to understand why. Also on the other side, antivaxxers trying to not just get pissed but trying to understand the other side. Not sure if I'm now thinking "understanding" or "compassion", but i guess the later would be a first step to not just giving up on people, instead of getting pissed or writing them off like stupid.

But lol not gonna lie that's hard.

Upvote if your save the pizza crust and make garlic-oregano-oil dip breadstick snack crusticles with them.

There is a solar tanning parlor of sorts in a street close to us. I might just live in a bubble where noone would ever go to one of those parlors, but it seems to be open pretty late, and it feels like there are often some unsavoury people going in/coming out. It's become a running joke that it's a front, to be honest don't have a clue but I wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah I've got ads for very weird, retiree, conservative dad shirts a lot a while back, with text like "dad: I fix things and like cars" or something dumb like that.

I'm in my thirties, European, super left, don't like/never wil have kids. Wtf?

(By the way algorithms those facts are just a present, see what you wanna do with it)

Do you mean that 5 bucks only gets you a spoonfull of BnJ? Because over here a bucket is like <5

Good hiking shoes and some hiking pants. Especially the pants, got a set from the Decathlon for 40 bucks or so, light, airy, but not cold, extra pockets with zippers, zip-off bottom parts, elastic bands at the bottom. Use them for hiking but almost any activity that just requires a comfortable and efficient pant (actually it would work everywhere except at the office now that I think about it).

I think you could get away with an oven and a deepfryer with everything, but in my experience an airfryer is generally faster than the oven, and less oily than a deep fryer (I wanna say more healthy but I don't really know enough about the details, so I'll just stick to the objectively "less oily").

I use it for fries (sweet potatoe fries most often), anything resembling nuggets (like vegetarian nuggets/schnitzels, other veggy pattys, falafel), fry-snacks (eggrolls, samosa, bitterballs), and you can get a bit adventurous with trying our breads, vegetables, or other stuff that you would just plop in the oven.

Oh my god, from old members of In Flames?? I gotta check that out!!

Yeah they'll find a way like that around any argument

Ditto. Ours is called Tony, after the character Suckboy Tony from American Dad.

Yeah I saw in the discussion that it is also not clear how it behaves with actual geval particles in the water. However I think multiple other studies have looked into spread of bacteria and viruses and showed this is found near a flushed toilet, but one recent review said the signs where there but it's not certain it's super significant for health. (If I remember correctly, i scanned them pretty fast in a coffee fueled random-interest vortex while I actually really wanted to get on with other things).

Oh and I think it can also help with humidy and mold in toilets? Seem to recall my sister did a BSc project on this and actually gathered data in our home. No clue how significant this was tho.

But yeah it's also just polite, good habit to have i.m.o.

Cars?
