Rainy Mood

Don’t get the app, it’s not nearly as good.

You’re walking through a 3D soundscape of rain on a loop.

On leg day do you stretch first, then lift? On walking day do you stretch as well? If that’s “Yes” and “No” try the same warmup on walking day.

Do you have different shoes you wear for each type of activity? Shouldn’t be shock/impact stressors, but if so try wearing the same pair for walking to see if that helps.

Do you have the same drinking pattern during both? Just because you’re not sweating during your waking doesn’t mean that you’re using up fluids. Especially if you’re outside in a much warmer environment vs. inside a moist, humid gym.

Doesn’t sound like blood clots nor (shin) splints, as those are deeper. Nor does it sound like allergies, as that’d be on the skin, from say your laundry detergent, or any grooming lotions and potions.

Gods damn I loved Legion!

Also, hilarious that I can't even get ahold of your support chat to question this unless I agree to these terms beforehand.

I can't even uninstall Photoshop unless I agree to these terms?? Are you fucking kidding me??

Realising I also need to agree to the terms if I want to sign in and cancel my subscription

Can someone there give me an email for someone who can cancel my subscription without having to sign in and agree to these new terms first?

I hate to say it, but within minutes of hearing about the attack by Hamas against Israel, the unexpectedness of it, and the scale of it, I asked myself, “Who’s funding this,” and, “Who gains by this?” And my brain replied, “Putin.”

Sure enough within days his puppets in our government (the USofA GOP) start talking about reducing/stopping aid to Ukraine.

It's important to note that the #1 rule of Misinformation is: Be First.

The information doesn't have to be accurate, verifiable, etc., it just has to Be First and it'll get repeated often enough that people will start to believe that it's true. "Oh Shirley, how can 'Biden Eats Babies' be wrong when I've already seen 18 shared posts on my wall this morning [Meta/Facebook] talking about it. I've received 3 e-mails from other family members talking about it. Why I even saw 4 articles on my favorite websites last night and this morning reporting on it. They can't all be wrong!"

Then when the truth tries to assert itself there's so much noise that it gets drowned out.

But how do you define "productive"?

I work from home and I get the same amount of work done. However if you define it as, "Doing X amount of work in Y amount of time," then yeah I'm less productive because nowadays instead of getting that work done in an 8-hour shift I take about 10–12 hours to do it.

Same work, same day, so my productivity hasn't changed. I just take longer to do it by taking breaks, going out to long lunches with friends, and my stress level is almost non-existent!

I find that to be a very equitable trade-off: Almost no job-related stress for a slightly longer working day.

It’s also the devs server and they have Lemmy code to write. Can’t be spending time moderating.

Damn, 3 hour old post and no one said FLY!? Ya’all need to be ducks more often…

Do it you man baby!

I tried commenting on two videos yesterday and included links to topic-related websites, and they were deleted.

I checked the TOS and they caution about including inappropriate links in replies, but those weren’t that.

It seems the channel can include links but users can’t. Haven’t tested it much past that point either.

Love to see so many Lemmy mentions in the comments! That’s a sure fire way to get people to give the Fediverse a try.

Mastodon gets better when you start following people by hashtag.

Account Settings > Profile > Featured Hashtags

Populate that area with hashtags of what interests you. Pretty soon you have people popping up that share your interests and you follow those that seem interesting.

Hi everyone, Well, it has been a wild ride. I joined reddit over a decade ago, when it was still much smaller and different from today. I quickly stumbled upon /r/theoryofreddit and was fascinated by all the discussion and theories about how communities work. So when after a while mod applications opened up I applied, which was my first experience modding on reddit. My experiences there also prompted me to start experimenting with ways to make moderation easier through various user scripts and CSS hacks. This eventually resulted in a very early version of toolbox, although some earlier experiments never made it to the general public. In the decade that followed I was involved in various communities and Toolbox developed into a project that used by over 20.000 (twenty thousand) mods all over reddit. But over the past few years reddit has been moving slowly in a direction that I believe is not good for the health of many communities. So even before this whole API debacle properly started I was already burned out and tired with reddit. What I said in this post holds true even more today. I am just tired with the platform's now accelerated decline, see also this comment. So, over the past two weeks I have decided that I am not going to use reddit anymore. As a mod, I already did quit my last actual subreddit last year (/r/history). Yesterday I cleaned up a few of the smaller subreddits I was still involved as well. As a user I went through all my subscriptions and unsubscribed from all of them with the exception of /r/modnews and /r/modcoord. The last two because I'll stick around a bit for the meta stuff, certainly to see how things end up. But I think I have invested more than enough time in this platform, probably more than has been healthy at times. I want to use this post to thank everyone who has been involved with me in a mod team, involved with toolbox and all users of toolbox. "Wait, why is this posted on /r/creesch and not /r/toolbox?"

Fair question, with a simple answer. This is me saying my goodbyes for now, not strictly a toolbox announcement. While a lot of people see me and toolbox as one and the same thing, many different people contributed over the years and the project itself is not going away. I am also not going nuclear by disabling it as that would make me no better than certain admin actions in the past couple of weeks. As I said here two weeks ago. I will speak my mind, but toolbox itself has since it's inception be there for all mods to help them out. I am not going to abuse that trust we build over the years by forcing my opinion. "Why not quit reddit entirely, delete your account, be done with it?"

I thought about it. But I am not really the nuclear type. And to be completely honest, over a decade of work and effort is difficult to entirely let go. I really do dislike the direction reddit has chosen to go but I'd like to be able to check in to see if there is a shift in course. And yes, while reddit profits from the information on reddit it also is information regular people might benefit from. If I deleted my account, including scrubbing all comments my voice, over what has happened in the past two weeks (years, honestly) will also no longer be there.

Knowing what little I know of the boy, Elon probably wants to make everyone start saying, "I'm on X," or "You can find me on X" as a puerile Ecstasy (MDMA) joke.

Of course they'll no longer "Tweet" but instead they'll "Xcrete"...

I wouldn't say "lost" per se, as they are a company in business to make money.

But when your site exists because of user input, because of user moderation (done for free), you're damn well not looking at the "big picture" when all you talk about is shareholders.

By all means feel free to post something to this community to generate the discussion you’re looking for Mike!

So far you’ve posted nothing, to any community.

The ‘canvas’ which everything else resides upon is currently thought to be Quantum Fields: Quantum Fields: The Real Building Blocks of the Universe - with David Tong. (A 1h video by a theoretical particle physicist that’s in layman’s term, very educational and downright LOL funny at times. Well worth your time!)

A Field is something that permeates the entire universe. There’s thought to be a field for every particle in the Standard Model. Electron, photon, charm, up, etc. A particle forms when the field is excited, and these particles interact with each other to form the universe.

Pelley asked some downright stupid questions. Sad to see how far “60 Minutes” has sunk.

Business Insider is utter crap. Please ignore those idiots.

I found reddit when Digg imploded, and have now found Lemmy when reddit imploded. (No, I don't think that reddit is going to truly implode, just using an analogy…)

As previously stated on that other site, by more than a few commenters, the GOP is, "in it to win it at all costs." That's why Biden and the Democrats need to wake the fuck up and DO SOMETHING that demonstrates that they're aware of this fact, and are taking steps to counteract the GOP moves.

Save it for the 2024 election!

It’s going to be a balls-out, no-holds-barred, utter shit fest of propaganda, lies, and disregard for any laws and/or ethics to get him re-elected.

Delay, delay and then steal the election to stay out of jail.
