I think I can answer this. I remember when the singles came out. Used to be they had American cheese in a block. Sort of. They were sliced and stacked. This was the same American cheese/cheese product used in the singles. Exact same dimensions. The package was not re-sealable though. So I always put my block in a quart zip lock after opening. People were too fucking dumb to do this so their block of American cheese would go stale. And they complained about slices getting stuck together. Why in the world did Kraft decide to make the singles instead of changing the packaging be resealable and have wax paper like every other cheese? I have no idea.

  1. Dammit why are there no salty snacks in this house. I need something with salt but I won't leave the house.

Maybe the people on your Facebook are also AI/bots. It's just one big circle of bots posted altered photos and responding to them.

SR-71 speed check

One time we were going fast

a small plane got on the radio and said "how fast am i going"

the tower said "you are going fast"

and then a bigger plane got on the radio and said "haha i think i am going faster how fast am i going"

and the tower said "you are going a little faster"

and then a jet fighter was going really fast and talked like a really cool guy and said "hey there, I sound like a cool guy, tell me how fast I'm going"

and the tower said "you are going very fast" but he sounded totally normal

And then I wanted to say something but that was against the rules, and then the other guy in my plane said "hey tower, are we going fast"

and the tower said "yes you are going like a million fast" and then the guy in my plane said "I think it's a million and one fast" and then the tower said "lol yeah ur plane is good"

and then I said "did we just become best friends"

and the other guy said "yes"

This is fucking hilarious. Especially the suit of armor. It feels like such a lazy fix

Lemmy World! Party Time! Excellent!

I put off a boring task at work for weeks in favor of a more interesting work project. I kept telling myself over and over that I should switch over and start the other project before it gets late. But every time I tried, I just couldn't work on it. I literally couldn't. It was so difficult I was almost falling asleep just staring at the code. I'd switch back.

I finally finished it today. The day before it was due. Came in this morning, brain kicked into overdrive and I just finished it all. I don't remember eating lunch. What should have been done in two weeks, was done in a little over two days. Why do I do this myself. I can't help it.

(The code looked really good though.)

My dad saw a picture of that scene and immediately said "He could cut that pipe he's chained to." "But what if the blade is dull?" I said. "That pipe is cast iron. All he'd have to do is score it really good and then crack it with handle of the saw, or kick it lose."

Dad knowledge. It must be something we get when we become a dad.

Fantastic! When I joined the week before the reddit blackout I believe there was something like 2,000 users. Such huge growth in a short amount of time! Consider donating a few bucks monthly to help with server costs. I'm doing my part!

Precisely this. I am an electrical engineer. I was told in school not to stress about the FE exam unless I was a civil engineer. Or I was planning on designing high power equipment. I guess am an electrical engineer technically but these days I also work as a software engineer as well.

It doesn't help the fact that there was a meme where someone photoshopped his face to be slightly smaller. Then as it became popular and he started appearing in news more, a whole group of people became dedicated to altering every photo of him. It's possible that those images ended up in the top results of google.

If only I had a Lemmy World hat in the style of Wayne's World. Party on!

You can buy a GBA motherboard now? I have a broken GBA which would be perfect for this. What LCD screen did you use?

I believe it means that the gun is making an "imprint" in your shirt. Like someone could see your gun under your clothes. I would think if someone were concealed carrying, this would be undesirable.

Woah. Childhood memory unlocked

Welcome!

Ok. What did you use to make that?

Yes. Basically someone made a formula years and years ago about what they believed new cars mpg would be based on very generous speculations. And it's never been adjusted. The formula is based on the a bunch of variables but ends up boiling down to altering the footprint.

Oh no. It's slams all the way down.

The reason is years and years ago the EPA formula set some goals based on speculation that future technology would keep up pace. And we can't achieve those goals. But car manufacturers can increase the footprint of their vehicles to move the goal post.

I've been getting emails from the superintendent about this. It's very annoying.

"Dear MASD Community,

Earlier today, Judge Lynn Adelman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin granted a temporary restraining order prohibiting the Mukwonago Area School District from implementing Policy 5514 - Student Privacy in Restrooms and Locker Rooms. The text of the judge's order is below. The District will continue to defend Policy 5514 in the interest of protecting the safety, privacy, and wellness of all students. We will also continue to keep the community informed as this case proceeds through the litigation process.

TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER signed by Judge Lynn Adelman on 07/06/23. IT IS ORDERED that plaintiff's motion for a temporary restraining order is GRANTED. The Mukwonago Area School District, Superintendent Joe Koch, and all officers, employees, and agents of defendants, are hereby restrained from: (1) enforcing against plaintiff any policy, practice, or custom that denies plaintiff access to girls' restrooms at school and school-sponsored events; and (2) taking any formal or informal disciplinary action against plaintiff for using girls' restrooms at school and school-sponsored events. (cc: all counsel)(kmr)

Dr. Joe Koch Superintendent Mukwonago Area School District"

His email address is on the school board website in case someone wanted to email him back and let them know how you feel. I'm sure he would appreciate any feedback.

Can't figure out how to do a quote block correctly

My absolute favorite way to play is with a Gamecube and a Gameboy Player! It actually plays all GB, GBC, and GBA games! Gameboy Players can be cheap, but the boot disc is expensive. To get around this there is home brew software for the Gameboy Player that is very good, although I haven't tried it myself. To use it you need an Action Replay and a cheap SD card to GC memory card adapter. The software will boot the Action Replay first, then boot whatever is on the SD card. (I bet there are ways to load roms too but I haven't looked). I play with a Raphnet SNES to Gamecube adapter.

All Gameboy Advances play GB, GBC, and GBA. The best GBA is the SP model AG-101 which has a factory backlight screen. However, there are tons of modifications available for Gameboys out there. I say get a used GBA and go to https://www.retromodding.com/ and go to town on it. Customize it the way you want

For ROMs only get a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS and install home brew software. And as a bonus you can play the entire DS and 3DS library as well.

FYI the Nintendo DS can play GBA games, but it does not support GB or GBC.

Awesome

Does serebii.net or bulbapedia only cover the original franchise games? Just curious. Haven't played a Pokémon game in a long time.
